Call Management Series – Call Forwarding

The final article in our call management series takes a look at call forwarding. This highly useful feature enables you to get your business calls wherever you are and wherever you need them to be. By setting up call forwarding, you can send your calls to any phone you want – home, mobile, office or even to a coworker’s phone.

Here’s how to set up call forwarding:

1. Log in to your RingCentral account.
2. Click My Settings.
3. Click Forwarding Numbers.
4. Enter your phone numbers and click Submit.

You can also forward calls based on the time and day of the call. Create an After Hours answering rule to handle calls when your business is closed or you’re not in the office. Send calls directly to voicemail or forward them to another phone, such as your mobile or home phone.

To create an after-hours rule, click Answering Rules in the Call Settings menu on the left side of the screen. Click After Hours. Then select an Answering mode. For example, choose Take Messages Only to send calls straight to voicemail.
