Dreamforce: New AI predictive analytics are great, but personal communication is still the heartbeat of relationship-building
According to Salesforce, Dreamforce is now the largest tech conference for software in the world, and this year was certainly the most impressive Dreamforce to date!
The event has grown into a massive and ambitious celebration of innovation and altruism, with the core theme focused on advancements in digital transformation and “customer trailblazing.” This year there was a greater focus on philanthropy, equality, and empowerment; Salesforce shared how cloud technology, growth, and leadership in business fosters the mindset and resources to help less fortunate overcome life threatening challenges.
Many of the sessions at the conference were around generating more meaningful customer insights and interactions, saving time, growing revenues, and ultimately making the world a better place. It was a fascinating overview of technological innovations such as artificial intelligence and IoT, juxtaposed with messages about going green, respecting and protecting the environment, and even eradicating AIDs.
In one of Marc Benioff’s keynotes, he spoke about how artificial intelligence (Salesforces’ new product named “Einstein”) provides predictive analytics that help sales reps interact more proactively with the highest scoring leads that are more likely to qualify and close. But he immediately emphasized that even though AI is delivering greater insights and efficiencies, there’s no replacement for human contact to build relationships.
