About
Scooter and Tre’von are masters of the intersection of technology and culture. They are passionate about the economic equity gap within communities of color. Both attended Morehouse College and have experience in building community and mobilizing young people through projects that become platforms.
Challenge
Scooter and Tre’von discovered RingCentral Events the week of the global response to COVID-19 and realized that it was the perfect platform to connect creatives and entrepreneurs across the country. Despite people being forced to quarantine in their homes, the vision and energy they saw was put into motion.
Solution
The pair hosted QuarantineCon, a digital conference for creatives and entrepreneurs to learn, partner and connect.
They had 6 speakers including YouTube stars, venture capitalists, founders, CEOs and Grammy-award winning music execs. It was a free event complete with fireside chats and a DJ during the stretch-breaks. Attendees networked for up to an hour after the event, and also had community partners in the expo.
Result
Despite discovering the RingCentral Events platform five days before the event, Scooter and Tre’von expected 500 people to register. Then, 4,498 people registered for the event. “It blew our expectations,” they said.
We learned so much about the power of the RingCentral Events platform In the last 8 weeks, we’ve since hosted 8 events on RingCentral Events—everything from virtual gyms with fitness instructors to a virtual career fair with companies like JP Morgan Chase and NBC Universal.
