Highlights:

  • Comparably’s Leadership Awards 2021 is based on 10 million anonymous employee responses across 60,000 companies large and small.
  • Comparably’s mission is  “to create more transparent and rewarding workplaces for all.”

Every year, workplace culture experts Comparably anonymously poll employees from tens of thousands of companies worldwide on issues ranging from Best Leadership to Best Career Growth to Best CEOs for Women and beyond. And every year at about this time, executives around the world nervously refresh their browsers, awaiting the results. We love a dramatic buildup as much as anyone, but it’s probably time to let our People team exhale.

The envelope, please

RingCentral is proud to announce the following rankings:

  • #2 Best CEO for Diversity
  • #2 Best Leadership Team
  • #6 Best CEO for Women
  • #16 Best Company for Career Growth

We are always eager to listen. And while I am humbled on behalf of the leadership team, I know there is a long journey ahead and a different place to go in our purpose-led journey. It is your honest and open feedback that keeps us moving forward – in the best possible direction – allowing us as leaders to improve day after day, week after week, year after year.”

—Anand Eswaran, RingCentral President

Take a breath, People Team. You deserve it.

When you consider we’re competing with 60,000 companies worldwide, including Apple, Google, Zoom and Microsoft, these numbers are astonishing. When you consider what it means to be a purpose-led organization, it’s not really surprising at all.

Why we do it

Why do we do what we do? To power human connections. Every day we wake up and wonder if there’s a better, smarter, more intuitive way to connect people, from wherever they happen to be, on any device. We’re enabling better ways of working, collaborating and most importantly, living. Our platform gives parents more time with their kids. Puts fewer cars on the road. And makes technology feel invisible, so people can connect easily, collaborate effectively…and get on with their lives. That’s our purpose.

How we do it

It’s impossible to “power human connections” if your own humans don’t feel connected to one another. Which is why we’re so proud of these awards.Thousands of our employees took the time to respond to Comparably’s survey. Not because there was anything in it for them, but because they thought enough of our culture to share it with the world. Why did they do that? Because the culture itself is its own reward. And that is derived directly from our purpose.

What it means

So we got a few good rankings. So what? So, this: Culture matters. According to The Harvard Business Review, “People who find meaning in their work don’t hoard their energy and dedication. They give them freely, defying conventional economic assumptions about self-interest. They grow rather than stagnate. They do more—and they do it better.” We could have told them that.

Culture is key

RingCentral’s culture is the first thing people notice about us. It’s wildly dynamic, incredibly innovative, and diverse by design. It also shows up on the balance sheet: driving 30% growth every year. Does our technology play a role in that growth? Of course. But we believe the real key is our purpose – and the 6,000+ people worldwide who share it. Their creativity, dedication, and willingness to pull for one another are attributes worth celebrating. We’re so proud of them, and humbled by their willingness to help our company earn these prestigious awards. The bar can’t go much higher. But you’d better believe we’re going to keep trying to raise it. See you right here (hopefully slightly higher,) next year.
