At re:Invent in 2017, we launched Alexa for Business with a mission: to bring to the workplace the same productivity and organizational benefits Alexa brought to the home. Since then, thousands of customers have deployed Alexa-enabled devices throughout their organizations.

What is it like using Alexa in the workplace? One of the most frequently cited examples today is simplifying meeting room experiences. Alexa provides an easy to use and intuitive interface to interact with meetings applications.  And today, we are excited to launch the RingCentral Meetings skill.

You can now use intuitive, hands-free voice commands to interact with your RingCentral Rooms.

You can simply say “Alexa, join my meeting.” and Alexa will seamlessly connect your RingCentral Rooms system to your scheduled meeting. In addition to controlling your RingCentral Meeting system, you can use Alexa to check the availability of your meeting rooms and book a room if available. You can even connect Cisco Telepresence or Polycom Group Series video conferencing systems with Alexa for Business to automatically connect these systems to their RingCentral Meetings.  Customers like Propel Insurance have already started using this solution, leading to more productive employees.

Ready to get started? Check out these skills on the App Gallery on developer.ringcentral.com and visit us at the Connect Central Conference session titled ‘Hands-Free Communications at Work with RingCentral and Alexa for Business.’

For information about getting started with Alexa for Business, see the documentation on our website.
