June is LGBTQI+ PRIDE Month, and while PRIDE will look pretty different this year due to the state of the world, we wish all of our LGBTQI+ colleagues, friends, and allies a month of joy and celebration. You deserve it!

As we watch the country stand up and fight back for Black lives, we’re reminded that the roots of Pride Month are in uprising, too. The Stonewall Riots in New York were five days of rebellion against targeted police brutality and raids on gay bars. Three years prior, on the West Coast, the lesser-known Compton’s Cafeteria Riots fought for the same cause. These revolts were led by gay and trans people of color, and we lift up these revolutionaries as we celebrate and continue to fight back against abuses of power on all communities.

Like the LGBTQ community, our Black community is marginalized and underserved. We hope that in the spirit of equality at RingCentral, we can stand in solidarity with our communities, offer our support with resounding pride that we move forward with this better and more equal altogether.

In honor of PRIDE, here are a few exciting updates about inclusion at RingCentral:

RingCentral Email Signature Templates: Share Your Pronouns

We aim to make RingCentral a place where everyone feels comfortable bringing their whole selves to work. That’s why we’re pleased to share new email signature templates with our team members that include space for their gender pronouns:

Along with the launch of RingCentral’s “Together” campaign, this is one small step we’ve taken to help every team member feel safe, respected, and celebrated, no matter how they identify.

RPeople – We’re Hiring!

At RingCentral we’re proud of our employees of every orientation with diverse backgrounds, cultures, and experiences.  We’re committed to supporting all our LGBTQi team members so stepping it up in the spirit of Pride. RC employees who refer people to us will be entered into a raffle for a $250 gift card.

How can you share your RingCentral Pride? One way is to refer more great people to one of our career opportunities.

Refer someone that we’d be proud to work with and, provided that they are qualified, we’ll enter you into a raffle for a $250 Instacart gift card

Thanks for being a part of our RingCentral family! We’re proud to have you on our team! Send us your great referrals today.

RingCentral Earns a Perfect Score from the Human Rights Campaign

Great news: RingCentral has earned a score of 100% on the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index scorecard and a designation as one of the “Best Places to Work for LGBTQ Equality.”

How RingCentral earned 100%: the HRC looked at all of our LGBTQ-related policies and practices to determine how we measure up. This includes non-discrimination protections, domestic partner benefits, trans-inclusive healthcare, competency programs, and public engagement with the queer community.

We are proud of this distinction and will keep working hard to make RingCentral a place where all feel at home.

Creating Space: RingCentral to launch LGBTQI+ Employee Resource Group in time for PRIDE

RingCentral is proud to introduce the “Rainbow Room”, a new employee resource group (ERG) for our LGBTQI+ community and allies.

This resource group will serve as a safe, virtual space to discuss issues facing the LGBTQI+ community. Team members will be able to post opinions and photos as well as links to thoughtful articles and anything else that’s important to their experiences. We see the Rainbow Room as a place for the RingCentral family to respectfully engage with ideas and build a more visible sense of community and support.

As part of the RingCentral family, I’m proud to work for an organization that is creating a safe environment for all people. That’s why I’m happy to play an integral part in planning and implementing the Rainbow Room.

It took me many years to come out fully and be the authentic person I am now. RingCentral’s loud and proud support of the LGBTQI+ community means we all have the real choice to share our true selves at work if we wish, without fear of persecution, hatred, or loss of income.

The Rainbow Room’s official launch kicks off in June in honor of PRIDE and is open to LGBTQI+ employees and their allies. Stay tuned for more from us on how this new resource impacts life at RingCentral.

Join us on the journey to do better

We’d like to close this update with a note that bears repeating:

As a company, and as individuals, inclusion shouldn’t be just a box we check or a fixed destination; it’s both a process and a journey.

At RingCentral, we’re always on the lookout for new ways to create inclusive space and opportunities for our employees. We’d love to hear how other organizations are bringing inclusion to life for their teams.

Happy PRIDE!
