Think about all the things you do in a typical workday: check your email, schedule meetings, view the latest metrics on a spreadsheet, and hop on and off of lots of calls and video meetings, to name just a few.

Having an abundance of business apps at our disposal makes each of these individual tasks easier. But apps are a double-edged sword. The more you use, the more likely you are to experience app overload and these common problems:

Ready to work from anywhere?

Here’s the secret to a successful hybrid and remote-first workplace.

Tomorrow's workplace is hybrid and remote-first. Is your communications system ready?

Enjoy!

Luckily, the RingCentral app improves worker productivity by offering a single place for communication and collaboration. Instead of having to use multiple applications to perform everyday tasks, RingCentral is a one-stop “command center” for workers in the enterprise.

Workers can make video and voice calls, send messages, and share files—all in a single application.

We’ve also made some recent enhancements to the Tasks feature that now let workers do even more in RingCentral.

What are Tasks in RingCentral?

Tasks help you and your colleagues stay on top of your projects. And in RingCentral, you can create tasks for yourself or others and add them to a direct message, group, or team conversation.

Tasks allow you to:

And there are even more ways you can use tasks to get more done in your day and keep projects and teamwork on track. Here are a few:

1. Move tasks and events across conversations

Need to reassign a task to another person on the team, or shift it to another conversation? There’s no need to recreate it from scratch. Now you can quickly move tasks or events across conversations

This feature makes it easy to “hand off” tasks in a workstream from one person to another just as in an office environment.

2. View tasks in calendar

In RingCentral, all of your tasks are automatically entered into a calendar view. It’s a great way to get a birds-eye view of everything on your plate.

You can see your tasks in a daily, weekly, or monthly view, and check off ones you’ve completed when the time comes.

3. Category and color sorting

Not every task is of equal priority. And for larger projects, some tasks may roll up to different workstreams.

We made it easier to organize and manage all these different tasks in a single place. You can now sort and view tasks by color and category—and organize your work exactly the way you want.

Making your workday simpler

It’s easy to see why workers have a love-hate relationship with their apps. While apps make it easy to get work done, the sheer abundance of apps used at work every day can be a bandwidth drain—and add complexity to our workdays.

The RingCentral app is all about simplicity—and our new Task creation and management enhancements are yet another way we’re helping workers tame the chaos of their day.
