About

Treehouse is an online technology school that provides beginner to advanced courses on web design, web development, mobile development, and game development. By enabling students to learn at their own pace, the brands’ users prepare for a successful career as a developer. Global companies like Nike, MailChimp, and GE have hired the top tech talent from Treehouse. Treehouse aims to make education accessible to all races, genders, sexual orientations, and socio-economic backgrounds.

Challenge

The team at Treehouse needed to launch their Treehouse Festival, a five-day event with 28 different speakers. The goal was two-fold: 1) shift to a remote-first environment and 2) help Treehouse students prepare for their learning journey.

The Treehouse Festival needed an online event venue that could facilitate presentations, fireside chats, panel discussions, live Q&A, and networking.

The networking feature is what really drew us to RingCentral Events. It really helped make it feel similar to an in-person event.

Solution

Treehouse partnered with RingCentral Events to create an engaging online virtual experience in just two months that allowed students the flexibility to interact in a live setting. The Treehouse Festival created a branded interactive event using the RingCentral Events platform that allowed students to flow smoothly between the main stage for keynote presentations, multiple sessions, and networking.

Result

The Treehouse Festival hosted 7,500 attendees. “We anticipated 10% of registered attendees to show up, and we had nearly 46% on the first two days,” shared Elizabeth Dominguez-Jackson, Event Manager at Treehouse.

Other highlights:

  • total time spent in the event by everyone was 1,331,716 minutes.
  • 2,072 responses to the poll: “What topics should we add to Treehouse?”

The networking feature is what really drew us to RingCentral Events. It helped make it feel similar to an in-person event.
