The RingCentral Product and Engineering teams aren’t just crafting the next chapter in enterprise communication and collaboration. They’re also building award-winning team cultures. Comparably, a leading workplace culture and compensation monitoring site, has named RingCentral to its 2024 lists of Best Product & Design Teams and Best Engineering Teams.

How Does Comparably Choose the Best Teams?

Each quarter Comparably honors companies with Best Places to Work Awards, as rated by their own employees, across a variety of categories. The Best Teams winners lists are derived from sentiment ratings provided by current employees in product and design and engineering departments who anonymously rated their employers on Comparably.com from February 2023-February 2024. Nearly 20 different workplace culture categories were measured, from compensation, leadership, and co-workers to work-life balance, professional development opportunities, and perks and benefits.

RingCentral’s product team made the top 10, alongside companies such as Synopsis, Workday and Altametrics, and the Engineering Team was ranked number 13.

What makes RingCentral’s Product and Engineering Teams Stand Out?

Both teams are innovating at scale and delivering world-class reliability, driven by a commitment to enhancing the communications experiences of millions of users. These experiences, in turn, deliver valuable insights that drive even more innovation.

In 2023, product and engineering teams went above and beyond to execute RingCentrlal’s AI-first multi-product evolution. RingCentral is infusing AI across its entire product portfolio so businesses can turn their conversational data into actionable insights across all modes of communication and a multitude of use cases. These insights will help businesses streamline operations, provide agents with actionable real-time intelligence during customer interactions, and empower data-driven decision making across marketing, sales and support.

The product and engineering teams make these innovations possible by leveraging a combination of the RingSense AI platform and  pre-trained Large Language models such as ChatGPT. This results in a highly accurate and orchestrated AI approach that can be tailored for specific communications use cases. As a result, organizations will be far more connected and productive, to deliver far more value to their customers.

Leading with Empathy and a Clear Vision

As Chief Product Officer, Srini Raghavan guides his team in delivering intuitive and innovative solutions that enable people to interact seamlessly, and his leadership is rooted in empathy.

“Demonstrating empathy involves actively listening to your colleagues, acknowledging their feelings and perspectives, and showing that you care about their wellbeing,” Srini said. “Taking the time to learn about different perspectives and experiences fosters creative innovations. By demonstrating empathy and creating a supportive work environment, we can inspire our colleagues to be their best selves and achieve their full potential.”

RingCentral Design and Research Vice President Kedar Shiroor believes leading a high-performing team begins with a clear “North Star.” Shiroor’s UX/UI team develops the features, interfaces, and designs that are helping redefine the way the world communicates. The team’s world-class research, design and project management skills all help raise the technological bar.

“Leading diverse and dynamic teams toward a well-defined vision enables my team to craft truly elegant, satisfying and “sticky” experiences that drive tangible business outcomes,” Kedar said.

Alex Shteyngolts, Senior Vice President of Engineering, was one of RingCentral’s first engineers back in early 2000s, and is proud of the platform the team has helped architect and scale.

“For gifted and driven innovators who think creatively, RingCentral offers an environment to dream, develop and share your ideas with the world,” Alex said. “It’s where the biggest ideas in cloud communications are imagined, developed and delivered. “
