Best of all, this feature is free for RingCentral Office and Office Unlimited customers.

Set up with just a few clicks

Our intuitive interface makes it simple to enable the feature. Just log in to your online account to turn the feature on under Settings then select the device where you ‘d like to receive these types of calls.

Help your entire office communicate more efficiently

Simply press the Intercom soft key on any of your company’s VoIP phones. A voice will prompt you to enter the extension of your colleague and begin speaking. Away from your desk phone? Access the feature by entering *85 from RingCentral for Desktop or our mobile app.

Quickly connect business customers with the right employee.

Whenever someone is away from their desk and receives a call on your company’s main number, you can use the feature to quickly locate them wherever they may be. Then just announce the person’s name before transferring the call to your colleague’s current device.

Which desk phones offer this feature?

The feature is supported on all RingCentral Cisco and Polycom desk phones.

Who can enable and set permissions?

This feature is turned off by default. Both admins and users have the ability to turn it on and set who can contact them. Admins can also set permissions on behalf of users.

How does this feature work with call park?

You can conveniently park calls for colleagues using Call Park soft key on desk phones, then use the Intercom soft key to announce to colleagues.

Does it work on the RingCentral mobile app and RingCentral for Desktop app?

Using RingCentral for Desktop or the RingCentral mobile app (with VoIP enabled), you can initiate contact with a touch-tone command. The mobile app receives these calls normally. RingCentral for Desktop cannot receive this type of calls.
