When you subscribe to RingCentral, you immediately get your own local number. If you have an existing local number, you may also use it and transfer it to your RingCentral account. Through the RingCentral virtual phone system, your local number may make and take calls, messages as well as faxes. To start using your local number, you just have to set it up through your online account or the Call Controller, a dashboard application which can be installed to your computer. All your calls, messages and faxes are logged in your account. This is updated in real time, as you receive calls, dial numbers, transmit faxes and receive voicemail messages. You may see each transaction, as well as its results, length and file size. Your call log stores all records indefinitely, and files are kept in your account for 30 days. You may download files such as voicemail audio files and Internet fax documents and save them in your computer. Your RingCentral local number is packed with all the call management features from RingCentral. Whenever there is an incoming call, the auto-attendant answers and routes it to the correct extension number. You may also screen callers and block unwanted numbers from calling your number.
