RingCentral

RingCentral replaces your local telephone service by providing you with a virtual phone system which can be used with a local number of any area code, wherever you are in the country. Since the virtual phone system from RingCentral depends on the Internet connection instead of the physical phone lines, local and toll free numbers can be used wherever the account owner is. This enables users to get a number which would cater best to their market. For instance, if you want to establish a New York image, even if you are in a low-cost office in another state, you may get a New York local number from RingCentral. You may get your local number upon signup, and immediately use it to make and receive calls. You may add additional phone numbers to your RingCentral account without having to get a separate subscription. Your local number is packed with all the features you need to achieve an intelligent and reliable phone system. You may listen to voicemails and read fax documents sent to your local number, and all call forwarding settings and answering rules apply to it as well. By logging into your RingCentral online account, you can easily configure the settings to your local number and how you answer calls.

Local numbers FAQs

How can I order my local number and when can I start using it? >>

During the sign up process, RingCentral will ask you whether you want a local or toll free number. Once you complete the process, you can start using your new number right away. Every RingCentral subscriber can order additional numbers from multiple locations, all of which will be synchronized with their account.

Why get a local number as opposed to a toll free number? >>

It depends on your needs. Some RingCentral customers use a local number because they want to appear local to potential customers, who will have the convenience of making a local call to reach you. For instance, a real estate agent who lives and operates in the Chicago suburbs with a 847 area code may want to advertise a Chicago phone number with a 312 area code if she wants to do business there. She can forward the calls to her cell phone, home phone, etc.

How can I instantly reply to voicemail using my phone and/or computer? >>

If someone leaves a voicemail for you, RingCentral can alert you to it via a text message on your cell phone. You can dial into your account and listen to your voicemail at any time. After you listen to your message, the auto-attendant will ask you if you want to reply—if so, just press a number on your phone to automatically connect to the caller.

You can also reply to callers from your computer. All calls and faxes are logged into your online account—and all phone numbers in your account are active links. Click on the link and you’ll activate RingOut click-to-call dialing. RingOut does the dialing for you—it’ll ring the phone you’re currently using and connect you to the caller.

Can I get multiple local numbers from different parts of the country, even if I don’t have offices there? >>

Yes. You can order as many numbers with as many local area codes as you want.

What do you charge for local numbers? >>

Your plan includes one company-level fax number and one company-level main number. These can be toll-free or local numbers. Each additional local number is $4.99 a month and includes all the same RingCentral features as your other RingCentral numbers.
