Chief Marketing Officer
As RingCentral’s Chief Marketing Officer, Jaya Kumar is responsible for all cross-functional marketing activities, including Corporate Communications; Digital, Field, and Solutions Marketing; Strategic Events; and Business Development.
Since joining RingCentral, Kumar has re-imagined the marketing function to accelerate discipline excellence, increase the focus on customers, and grow demand generation. Kumar launched the first brand campaign in RingCentral's history delivering over 30% improvement in quarterly consideration score, as well as delivering gains in RingCentral’s aided awareness and familiarity among target audiences. RingCentral has also been recognized as a market leader in cloud communications by leading industry analyst firms including Gartner, IDC and Frost & Sullivan.
Kumar brings more than 25 years of experience with multiple Fortune 100 companies, including PepsiCo and Kraft Foods/Mondelez, where he held both President and CMO positions. In addition, he has worked in multiple markets of the world, including Asia, the Middle East, Canada, and the US. Most recently, he was Global CMO at Capital Group, one of the world’s largest fund managers with over $2.2 trillion in assets under management for individuals and institutional investors.
Prior to working at Capital Group, Kumar was President and Chief Innovation Officer at UST Global, where he helped transform the organization into a modern, well-integrated digital business. Kumar also served as the President of South East Asia and Senior Vice President of Strategy for Mondelez International. He was responsible for the business in 12 countries, including Hong Kong, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.
During his time at PepsiCo, he held a variety of leadership positions, including President for the Global Nutrition Group, where he was tasked to grow a nutritionally advantaged Health and Wellness portfolio, and President of Quaker Foods North America. As the CMO, Kumar managed all aspects of brand management of a snack portfolio that included multiple billion-dollar franchises such as Lays, Doritos, Cheetos, Tostitos, and Fritos. This included running large sales and marketing teams of over 16,000 people and sales of over $15B.
Kumar currently serves on a number of Boards, including Abzooba, an AI-based data science company; RoundFeather, a human design anthropology company; and 360 Growers which provides SaaS solutions for vineyards.
Kumar has received multiple prestigious marketing awards, including Cannes, Effies and “Top 10 Marketer in North America” as recognized by American Marketing Association and Ad Age.
He holds a master’s in business administration from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA).
