RingCentral appoints Kira Makagon as EVP Innovation
~ Former Founder and President of Red Aril and Epiphany Executive Joins Executive Team at RingCentral ~
San Mateo, Calif. – September 10, 2012 – RingCentral, Inc., a leading provider of cloud business phone systems, today announced the appointment of Kira Makagon as Executive Vice President of Innovation. Ms. Makagon will lead product management, product marketing, engineering and operations and will report to Vlad Shmunis, RingCentral’s Founder, Chairman and CEO.

Ms. Makagon brings more than 20 years of product strategy, global technology management and senior leadership to RingCentral. Most recently, she founded and served as President of Red Aril, a pioneer in real-time audience and media optimization solutions for digital marketing, which was acquired by iCrossing, a Hearst company. Prior to Red Aril, Ms. Makagon co-founded and held key executive positions in flagship online marketing and CRM companies, including Octane Software which was acquired by E.piphany for $3.2 billion. Ms. Makagon subsequently served as CTO of the combined company. Prior to Octane, Ms. Makagon was VP of product development at Scopus Technology, where she led multiple generations of CRM products to market. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from UC Berkeley and an MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley.
