{"id":55065,"date":"2023-10-02T14:47:33","date_gmt":"2023-10-02T21:47:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newrcblog.wpengine.com\/us\/en\/blog\/?p=55065"},"modified":"2025-03-13T06:36:55","modified_gmt":"2025-03-13T13:36:55","slug":"ringcentrals-chief-customer-officer-advocates-for-customers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"\/us\/en\/blog\/ringcentrals-chief-customer-officer-advocates-for-customers\/","title":{"rendered":"RingCentral\u2019s Chief Customer Officer advocates for customers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Highlights:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Akshay Srivastava began his new role as RingCentral\u2019s Chief Customer Officer 90 days ago.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For Customer Service Week (October 2-6), we checked in to learn more about how he is improving RingCentral\u2019s customer experience.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After spending nearly four years at RingCentral in Finance and Operations roles, Akshay Srivastava took on the new role of Chief Customer Officer, overseeing <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">customer support, customer success management, voice of the customer and community functions<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0 He brings with him more than two decades of tech industry experience..\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Akshay sat down with us to share <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">how he is improving RingCentral\u2019s customer experience through data analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), and that irreplaceable element, the human touch.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-55066\" src=\"\/us\/en\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/CS-WEEK-QUOTES-03.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1921\" height=\"1081\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"heading h2\"><b>Ensuring a great customer experience is paramount.<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Akshay\u2019s primary focus is improving customer experience through added attention, expertise, and insights. He strives to strike a balance between customers who want to interact with RingCentral digitally and those who want that personal connection. Through the integration of emerging AI technologies, customers who choose to interact digitally receive tailored attention with exceptionally short turnaround times. In addition, customers have access to RingCentral\u2019s highly responsive customer success and support teams who are dedicated to meeting and exceeding customer expectations and offer the human connection.\u00a0 Akshay spends time daily meeting customers face-to-face or using RingCentral video. \u201cOur customers love our products and technology,\u201d says Akshay, \u201cpair those with human connection and we have a winning combination.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"heading h2\"><b>Using AI and data analytics to gauge sentiment.<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By measuring customer satisfaction using AI tools and metrics, Akshay\u2019s teams can gauge customer sentiment after every interaction. This allows customer success teams to address current needs and anticipate future ones. Whether it\u2019s a product feature a customer wants to add to their existing portfolio or an innovative idea, Akshay and his teams are acting on customer sentiment insights to make those improvements.\u00a0 \u201cThey care enough to tell us and we care just as much to listen and respond,\u201d Akshay says.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"heading h2\"><b>Building customer relationships.<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Akshay believes in building strong relationships by speaking with customers on a daily basis and traveling to customer sites.\u00a0 He focuses on getting to know them and what the world looks like from their perspective. This helps identify opportunities for growth, service, and support. Given such a positive response to this personal attention, RingCentral is rolling out a new executive relationship program, which pairs senior leaders with customers. By speaking to customers on a regular basis, the CCO organization\u00a0 can be certain they\u00a0 are doing everything to make\u00a0 customers successful. \u201cIt\u2019s important customers see the depth and breadth of the RingCentral brand. We\u2019re a global corporation. Seeing that level of leadership at the table gives our customers a lot of assurance,\u201d Akshay says.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">RingCentral also has a customer advisory board that provides another avenue to customers to provide feedback, which RingCentral uses to understand each customer\u2019s unique journey, and enhance its product, service and support offerings.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><\/p>\n<div class=\"quote-text-break-point\">\n<p class=\"qute-text\">As I work with the team, I can feel the passion they have for our customers, our products, our services. And I love how they all show up as ambassadors of RingCentral to their customers. I\u2019m deeply thankful for the great culture of \u201ccustomer first\u201d the teams have built over the years, and I look forward to helping them scale and build on that culture to take us to even greater heights. <\/p>\n<p class=\"quote-text-author\">\u2014Akshay Srivastava, Chief Customer Officer<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\t<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"heading h2\"><b>Achieving success through adaptation.<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As a diplomat\u2019s son, Akshay grew up in six different countries. \u201cWe would move every three years, so change and adaptation is a very big part of who I am.\u201d He later attended Louisiana State University, where he met his wife. Akshay loves to spend time with his family, including their teenage daughter and puppy.
