And our efforts are getting recognized. EcoVadis, a well-known rating agency, has honored RingCentral with their 2022 Silver Medal award for corporate sustainability. To reduce our impact and give employees time to celebrate Earth Day in their own special way, we are taking Friday, April 21st off to volunteer and recharge.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From planting trees, volunteering and spreading beauty with wildflowers, here are a few of our global initiatives taking place for Earth Day:<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"heading h2\"><b>China offices plant a greener future.<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For China Arbor Day, our China office launched the \u201cPlanting Trees for Home Protection\u201d initiative. More than 20 employees participated in this event, planting over 100 trees.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 RingCentral China will also be adopting 50 trees from March 12, 2023, to March 12, 2024, and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">planning more activities and programs to contribute to their local communities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-54441\" src=\"\/us\/en\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/China-ESG.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"904\" height=\"532\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"heading h2\"><b>The U.S. teams spread beauty.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In conjunction with RingCentral Foundation for volunteering and social impact, our Indigenous People employee resource group is handing out wildflower seed packets in U.S. offices. Each packet carries a special message: \u201cIndigenous people believe we have a special relationship with the earth and all living things. This relationship is based on a profound spiritual connection with Mother Earth that has guided Indigenous people to practice reverence, humility, and reciprocity. Or volunteer with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/onetreeplanted.org\/products\/plant-trees?gclid=CjwKCAjwue6hBhBVEiwA9YTx8Pmh5RvFiYBDu6Y6Eyz-yvwRkTmq5FJn1dwHMT4kOs3dHqdX1JmT0hoCpWoQAvD_BwE\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One Tree Planted<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,\u00a0 another great nonprofit focused on global reforestation.\u00a0 Volunteering in any way teams are passionate about is encouraged through our Dollars for Doers matching program.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"heading h2\"><b>Sustainable change.<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At RingCentral we\u2019re committed to creating meaningful and sustainable change in three key areas: environmental, social, and governance (ESG).<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Jennifer Hill, AVP Brand Purpose and ESG says, \u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We are focusing on reducing the impacts of our own operations and helping our customers reduce their impact through our technology. Across our company we are assessing and determining processes and targets to reduce environmental impacts, focusing first on energy consumption. In 2022 we determined our energy consumption baseline and set our intention to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 in our UK office.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are several programs we promote to make our offices sustainable: <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2022 Recycling and composting options <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2022 Electric vehicle charging stations at select office locations <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2022 Ridesharing and carpooling benefits <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2022 Locally sourced foods in our office cafes <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2022 Automatic faucets in bathrooms and kitchen\/breakrooms<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"heading h2\"><b>Helping customers reduce their impact.<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reducing the environmental impact of other businesses worldwide through the use of virtual communications is another way RingCentral is making an impact. RingCentral\u2019s cloud communications reduce carbon footprints by enabling meetings to take place virtually, reducing the amount of travel for employees and clients. We are super proud of these various initiatives, and it\u2019s great to see that our efforts are getting major recognition.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"heading h2\"><b>Honored to be recognized as an EcoVadis Silver Medal winner!<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our efforts in Europe are being recognized by EcoVadis, a highly trusted rating agency.
