RingCentral is proud to partner with Hiring Our Heroes and welcome Veterans and military members into the RingCentral community to help shape the future of cloud-based communications.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"heading h2\"><b>Our Heroes<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In honor of Veterans Day (November 11), we sat down with three members of the military to learn about their experience in the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hiringourheroes.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hiring Our Heroes<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Program and working at RingCentral.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Meet Brandon Hewett, Trevin Murray, and Dharm Joshi.<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Brandon Hewett, a soldier for <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">22 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">years and counting, is currently a Sergeant First Class (E-7) serving as an Electronics Maintenance Chief (94W) in the U.S. Army and a Global Enterprise Engineer at RingCentral.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Trevin Murray is a Lieutenant Colonel (O-5) and has been in the U.S. Air Force for approximately 29 years. Here\u2019s what they had to say.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Brandon Hewett<\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cSome of us are still active duty so we&#8217;re in that transition phase, but I will say that without the \u2018Hiring Our Heroes\u2019 program at RingCentral, I would be a bit lost. Many military members worry about transitioning into civilian life; finding job opportunities and the kind of camaraderie we\u2019re accustomed to in the military.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hiring Our Heroes helps to ease those concerns by connecting service members to job opportunities and, perhaps most importantly, a network of support.<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWhen I interviewed with RingCentral, it opened up an opportunity for me. I\u2019m very happy to be here \u2013 I\u2019m excited about RingCentral! I&#8217;ve enjoyed the training, interactions with other employees and everything! I really like the atmosphere and the people I&#8217;ve worked with.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>Trevin Murray<\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIn my time at RingCentral, everyone has been very supportive and helpful: the culture is awesome. As a cloud-based company, we have customers all over the world and I&#8217;m excited to be here.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Trevin went on to give a special shout out to his manager, Kelly Malone, the Senior Director of Application Security, and shared that she has been both very \u2018supportive and understanding\u2019 throughout his transition at RingCentral<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dharm also shared what our culture has meant to him:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Dharm Joshi<\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI\u2019ve enjoyed working in the military where I\u2019ve traveled and learned a lot and I think the RingCentral culture is the very best I&#8217;ve ever seen in my life. Everyone is so nice.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"heading h2\"><b>Feeling Welcomed at RingCentral<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Being in a community and building camaraderie is part of the military experience. That\u2019s why finding a tight-knit and supportive workplace environment is so important for our service members. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><b>Trevin Murray<\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI&#8217;ve served in the military for over 20 years and am very familiar with military life and\u00a0 know what to expect. But I had no idea what it would be like to transition into the civilian sector. HOH has opened many doors for many people. I remember when Abby and Tasia held an information session for transitioning service members, Tasia said something that really resonated with me. She said, \u2018you belong here.\u2019<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">RingCentral tries their best to make every employee feel that they&#8217;re part of the team \u2014 because we actually do belong here.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Trevin goes on to explain some of the benefits of HOH.<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cHOH has an awesome mentorship program, where we are provided with a mentor to help us transition. During my first week, I was assigned a mentor who happened to be prior military. It was great to be able to rely on him for support and to answer my questions.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"heading h2\"><b>Veterans and Military Members bring a lot of Talent to the Table<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hiring Veterans is beneficial for everyone. Sure, RingCentral is committed to supporting military service members to make their transition successful but it\u2019s a two way street. Veterans bring diverse skill sets, a great work ethic, and unique abilities that benefit us as well.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Brandon Hewett<\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cCompanies can definitely benefit from the values that we can bring to the table from our military service. After 23 years of service I&#8217;m really glad that companies will give us the opportunity to show what we can do for them.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>Trevin Murray<\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe have a lot of management and leadership experience. Not only that, we get it; We understand the big picture. We understand how organizations work. We understand that <\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the bottom line is the mission<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Trevin went on to share,<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u201cWe have a strong work ethic and loyalty to the organization. I think that companies recognize that and they will go to the end of the earth and do everything within their powers to retain us.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"heading h2\"><b>The Bottom Line<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">RingCentral is a great workplace for Veterans and military service members to launch a technology career and find community.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Brandon Hewett<\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cRingCentral is definitely a good company to join. When it comes to taking care of their people and taking care of the business, RingCentral sets the bar high.
