We also told you that CCA was based on another successful program, the Associate Solutions Engineering Program. Today, we\u2019re shining our spotlight on the ASE program, and meeting a few of the people in it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"heading h2\"><b>Simple is rarely simple.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In communications, every customer has their own, unique business problems and challenges. The job of the Solutions Engineer is to help them work out the ways RingCentral\u2019s technology can solve them. This could happen in the pre-sale process or much later. But in either case, Solutions Engineers oversee everything from implementation to technical issues to cost management. The roles require a comprehensive knowledge of our products-and-technology, as well as the individual client\u2019s particular challenges. It\u2019s a skill that takes years to learn, and even longer to master.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unless.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What if a program existed that absolutely immersed candidates in everything it takes to become successful in the SE role?\u00a0 As you may have guessed, we just happen to have one.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"heading h2\"><b>The fast track.<\/b><\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_52118\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-52118\" style=\"width: 173px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-52118\" src=\"\/us\/en\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Ashley-Youwakim.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"173\" height=\"173\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-52118\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ashley Youwakim<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">RingCentral\u2019s Associate Solutions Engineering Program is a comprehensive, 12-<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">month program designed to take candidates with little or no Solutions Engineering (SE) experience, and turn them into high-performing RingCentral Solutions Engineers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The program identifies candidates a little differently &#8211; not looking as much for years (or decades) of relevant experience, or time spent working for a competitor, but by evaluating people on their aptitude, attitude, desire, and potential.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe program is open to anyone and everyone,\u201d says Senior Enablement Manager Ashley Youwakim. \u201cI have a computer networking background, but we also have somebody on our team who was a history teacher. You\u2019re not expected to know everything right away &#8211; that&#8217;s the beauty of it. As long as you\u2019re dedicated to learning everything you can, you\u2019ll succeed.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_52119\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-52119\" style=\"width: 173px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-52119\" src=\"\/us\/en\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Amir-Sahranavard.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"173\" height=\"173\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-52119\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Amir Sahranavard<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIt was really interesting to me that we <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">can<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> have a technical background, but at the same time, not be <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">just<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> technical,\u201d said Associate Solutions Engineer Amir Sahranavard, who\u2019s in the program now. \u201cWe\u2019re getting the technical information, but also spending a lot of time on the soft skills you need as a Solutions Engineer. So it was really interesting for me as a recent graduate to have a chance to be a part of this.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"heading h2\"><b>Bringing more to the table.<\/b><\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_52117\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-52117\" style=\"width: 173px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-52117\" src=\"\/us\/en\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Nick-Pauly.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"173\" height=\"173\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-52117\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Nick Pauly<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pulling people into the program from a wide variety of backgrounds increases diversity, and provides RingCentral with a team of Solutions Engineers who not only know their technical stuff, but bring more to the proverbial table. In some cases, the table is a little more literal. \u201c I got involved in this because a friend who\u2019s a RingCentral ASE alum sent me a picture of his lunch,\u201d said Partner Solutions Center Team Lead Nick Pauly. \u201c\u2026.and I was like, \u201cThat looks like a great lunch. I should work there. And he said, \u201cHey, we\u2019re hiring,\u201d so I got roped in that way. I honestly thought Solutions Engineering would be kind of a stopgap for me, but I\u2019m still here almost three years later and I&#8217;m really enjoying it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"heading h2\"><b>A positive shift.\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For Associate Solutions Engineer Aliye Gallagher, there\u2019s a solidity to the Solutions Engineering role that she just wasn\u2019t finding in her previous life as a marketer. \u201cIn marketing, you follow a strategy, and when you\u2019re done, you go back and measure and see if any of your efforts had an effect. In Solutions Engineering, the feedback is much more direct. I\u2019m either getting results for my customer or I\u2019m not.\u201d<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"heading h2\"><b>Unlimited potential.<\/b><\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_52116\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-52116\" style=\"width: 173px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-52116\" src=\"\/us\/en\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Aliye-Gallagher.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"173\" height=\"173\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-52116\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Aliye Gallagher<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the best things about the ASE program? Graduates aren\u2019t stuck in Solutions Engineering roles. If candidates develop an interest in a specific area of the company, they\u2019re encouraged to develop it. \u201cThis program asks candidates to take in a lot of information about our products and the structure of the company,\u201d says Youwakim, \u201cbut also gives you a much greater level of comfort with saying \u201cI don&#8217;t know the answer, but I will find out,\u201d which opens you up to networking within the company. Once you start understanding all those different teams, you might discover a big interest in security, for instance. Well, now you know who to talk to, and you can dive deeper and you know, learn even more from them.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"heading h2\"><b>Wins all around.<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hiring experienced Solutions Engineers the traditional way is difficult and expensive. The ASE program boosts diversity, and cuts cost-per-hire.
