This is her story.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"heading h3 h2\"><b>Going down the road. Feeling glad<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-50743\" src=\"\/us\/en\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Kathleen1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"930\" height=\"700\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2020 and 2021 brought many changes for Kathleen<b>\u2014<\/b>some great; some not so great. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She was able to fully transition from the conventional chemotherapy that kept her bedridden and weak to advanced immunotherapy that gave her more energy, new hair, and a new lease on life. However, Kathleen also lost a job she loved in the hard-hit entertainment industry.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Both changes encouraged her to make a life-changing decision: <strong>to put herself\u2014and her pooch\u2014in the driver\u2019s seat instead of cancer<\/strong>. Literally. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kathleen gave up her apartment and squeezed her entire life into a 60-square foot Winnebago she named \u201cBert.\u201d Now, Bert, Ernie, and Kathleen spend their days exploring the country, visiting family, and living life to the fullest. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can <\/span><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/berternieandme\/\">keep up with their adventures on Instagram<\/a><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"heading h3 h2\"><b>New year, new possibilities<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When 2022 rolled around, Kathleen\u2019s life looked brighter than ever. But, there was still one thing to take care of: <strong>finding her next career move<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Before jumping into a new position, she outlined some non-negotiables the role had to fulfill. First and foremost, Kathleen wanted to find a company where <strong>diversity and inclusion\u2014especially disabilities\u2014were embraced and prioritized<\/strong>. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She wanted the flexibility to work from her Winnebago no matter where it parked. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lastly, Kathleen wanted a job that would surround her with kind and creative people who valued <strong>open communication<\/strong> and enjoyed challenging the status quo.
