You might run into frustrated colleagues, siloed workflows, and a lack of team spirit, just to name a few.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Introducing a few small changes to your <\/span><b>global collaboration etiquette<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> can help your teams across the world work together more effectively and build a stronger company culture. You\u2019ll have to balance this expectation as some cultures are more strict on 9-5 working hours compared to others that are more fluid.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Bonus tip:<\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nonverbal communication can be very different across cultures<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. For example, some people might feel comfortable voicing their opinions, whereas others might feel they need permission to share their thoughts.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Dedicate time at the end of meetings<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to ask various teams to voice their thoughts. This gives everyone on the team the opportunity to chime in.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><b>5. Connect with video wherever possible<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When you\u2019re not physically present with your leaders, influential stakeholders, and colleagues, you might feel like you\u2019re being overlooked. This is called <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ringcentral.com\/us\/en\/blog\/proximity-bias-the-next-big-challenge-for-hybrid-and-remote-work\/\"><b>proximity bias<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2014and it\u2019s a real concern.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-50718\" src=\"\/us\/en\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Presenter-overlay-and-move.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To combat proximity bias, <\/span><b>turn your video on<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> whenever possible in a virtual meeting.
