{"id":50423,"date":"2021-12-23T07:30:32","date_gmt":"2021-12-23T15:30:32","guid":{"rendered":"\/us\/en\/blog\/?p=50423"},"modified":"2025-03-13T06:39:09","modified_gmt":"2025-03-13T13:39:09","slug":"2021-together-part-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"\/us\/en\/blog\/2021-together-part-2\/","title":{"rendered":"2021, Together (Part 2)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Highlights:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a1<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hola!\u00a0(Hispanic Organization for Leadership and Achievement) is one of RingCentral\u2019s newest Employee Resource Groups<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As part of our ongoing focus on diversity and inclusion, we put added emphasis on hiring veterans and helping them thrive at RingCentral<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">RingCentral\u2019s mission is \u201cto power human connections.\u201d No other company I\u2019ve ever worked for has lived up to their mission the way we do. So, here\u2019s the second half of my still-too-short list of the things we\u2019ve achieved together this year:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>JULY &#8211; <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This blog post started out as a roundup of all the awards our company and culture have earned over the past year. I\u2019m certainly proud of those, but awards alone don\u2019t sum us up. (Plus, it\u2019s a <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">long<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> list, which would make a boring blog post.) But, I\u2019d be remiss if I didn\u2019t mention the results we saw from <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ringcentral.com\/us\/en\/blog\/human-connections-build-a-powerhouse-culture\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Comparably\u2019s Leadership Awards<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> 2021 in July: #2 Best CEO for Diversity, #2 Best Leadership Team, #6 Best CEO for Women and #16 Best Company for Career Growth. When you consider these rankings are pulled from 10 million anonymous employee responses across\u00a060,000 companies, you understand the true purpose of this post &#8211; to reinforce the idea that our mission and our purpose <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">really<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> matter.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>AUGUST &#8211; <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Powering human connections means powering <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">everyone<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Which is why I found our efforts on behalf of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ringcentral.com\/us\/en\/blog\/powered-by-inclusion\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">disabled employees<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ringcentral.com\/us\/en\/blog\/equal-access-inside-and-out\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">customers<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> so inspiring. As one article states, \u201c\u2026When and wherever we discover a need, we approach it as an opportunity \u2013 how can we make our products and services accessible to a wider audience?\u201d\u00a0That\u2019s the embodiment of our mission. And a great example of how it benefits both our own employees and the world at large.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>SEPTEMBER &#8211; <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As I mentioned in Part 1, Employee Resource Groups were a critical asset this past year\u2014spreading knowledge, expanding community, and ensuring every employee feels comfortable, empowered and involved. So it was great to see \u00a1Hola!\u00a0(Hispanic Organization for Leadership and Achievement) <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ringcentral.com\/us\/en\/blog\/hispanic-heritage-month-2021\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">take flight this year<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The slate of Hispanic History Month activities they put together made it seem as if they\u2019d been around for much longer than a few months. When we add the coordination that\u2019s already taking place with other ERGs, and I think we\u2019ll see big things from \u00a1Hola! next year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>OCTOBER &#8211; <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ringcentral.com\/us\/en\/blog\/finding-your-shot\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our partnership with the Transition N2 Tech Fellowship<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is exciting and inspiring &#8211; it\u2019s an innovative program that gives people from underserved communities a foot in the door of the tech industry. Transition N2 Tech is the kind of immediate, concrete action that makes a difference in people\u2019s lives and in the technology community at large. Participants rave about RingCentral\u2019s level of involvement, and we\u2019ve been thoroughly impressed with their work in turn.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>NOVEMBER &#8211; <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In September, RingCentral was granted a Unified License by the Indian Department of Telecommunications, making the company the first fully-compliant UCaaS provider in the country. Great news for our bottom line\u2026and a pretty solid segue into <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ringcentral.com\/us\/en\/blog\/ringcentral-celebrates-diwali\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the ways our employees around the world celebrated the festival of Diwali. <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Diwali celebrates the triumph of light over darkness, and if that isn\u2019t \u201cpowering human connection,\u201d I don\u2019t know what is. Finally, November wouldn\u2019t be November without <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ringcentral.com\/us\/en\/blog\/troop-strength\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">remembering the contributions of our military veterans<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; a community that never seems to stop finding ways to connect with\u2014and help others.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>DECEMBER &#8211;<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The month isn\u2019t over yet, but there\u2019s plenty to celebrate, from the company\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ringcentral.com\/us\/en\/blog\/all-in-on-india\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">continued expansion in India<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ringcentral.com\/whyringcentral\/company\/pressreleases\/ringcentral-and-mitel-announce-strategic-partnership-to-enable-customers-to-transition-seamlessly-to-cloud-based-unified-business-communications.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mitel partnership<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and best of all, our (fingers crossed!) <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ringcentral.com\/us\/en\/blog\/return-to-office-update\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">return to office<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in early 2022.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On behalf of everyone on the People team, I want to thank all of you for not only persevering through a tough 2021, but helping our company thrive, innovate, and most of all, truly live our mission of powering human connection.
