Published in The Journal of Emergency Medicine in August 2020, the study examined a novel telehealth-enabled workflow for evaluating, treating, and discharging ER patients.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the workflow, ED triage nursing staff presented low-risk, well-appearing patients with suspected COVID-19 infection to a remote physician for evaluation, treatment, and discharge. The results showed that around 50% of patients engaged through telehealth were evaluated and discharged successfully without requiring physical examination.
