A single day of recognition falls woefully short of what moms deserve, and of what they need. Fortunately, RingCentral\u2019s Mom\u2019s Employee Forum, called Mom Support Group, has arrived to fill in some of the gaps. Mom Support Group is the brainchild of Autumn Risick (Regional Partner Manager), Jessica Flannery (Senior Regional Partner Manager), and Siobh\u00e1n Corley-Richards (Senior Web Content Strategist). Risick says the group delivers exactly the kind of support moms need now.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe started this as a resource group \u2014 a safe place for mothers to share career challenges. So there\u2019s a lot of time spent on work\/life balance, but it\u2019s expanded beyond that pretty quickly. Moms, soon-to-be-moms, mother figures, you name it, they\u2019re here, asking for and sharing advice on all sorts of topics.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"heading h3\"><b>Giving mothers the tools they need from the start<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to Risick, the process of going on maternity leave can feel like a full-time job. But it\u2019s made a lot easier with the Mom Support Group Forum at your side.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cLast week we hosted a webinar with the wonderful Adri Jagoda from HR to review RingCentral\u2019s maternity benefits and support. She spent some time sharing what our benefit packages do-and-don\u2019t cover, how much time to take for maternity leave, answering benefits questions for women who are about to give birth and so forth. It can be a really confusing process, so it\u2019s good to bring the conversation back to the group so members who\u2019ve already been down that road can share their experiences.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For those who missed the maternity benefits and support webinar, you can catch it <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/drive\/folders\/1_EamILSM-j2i9_ir00HwPn9S4fPefwwj?usp=sharing\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"heading h3\"><b>Way beyond the maternity ward<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Mom Support Group Forum supports women through every stage of motherhood, including the going back to work-part.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe have moms giving advice on raising children with exceptional needs,\u201d says Risick. \u201cMoms who have experience with mental health issues &#8211; in their families or sometimes their own. And of course, we\u2019ve all been trying to figure out our lives through the pandemic with kids home from school.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"heading h3\"><b>A vision of support<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What\u2019s next for the Mom Support Group Forum? Growth, expansion and so much more than an RCV group. It\u2019s a place where moms or those on a motherhood journey can come to lift each other up, learn, and grow.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cUltimately, we want to be a place within RingCentral where women feel safe and supported and empowered through every stage of motherhood\u2014 and beyond. There\u2019s nothing more purpose-driven than a mom, and we think that energy can be channeled into helping women build their careers and get the most out of their work and home lives.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"heading h3\"><b>Support for every type of motherhood journey<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Motherhood is complex and comes in many forms. Risick says there\u2019s a level of support in the group that even those who aren\u2019t moms in the traditional sense could benefit from.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe\u2019re only six weeks old, and we\u2019re already at 70 members. That tells us &#8211; we\u2019re meeting a need. Our members share needs across the spectrum of motherhood\u2014 the complicated pursuit of motherhood, the struggles and delights of being a mom, being a mother figure, and more. These women are just so passionate, supportive, and knowledgeable\u2026they really want to be the best they can be in work and at home. I think we can be a resource for helping them do that, whether they\u2019re moms or not.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Mom Support Group Forum will be hosting an introductory webinar on <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thursday, 13th May @ 9am PST\/12PM EST<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to share their purpose and gather ideas.
