According to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pwc.com\/us\/en\/library\/covid-19\/us-remote-work-survey.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a PwC report<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, 75% of executives anticipate at least half of their employees will work in the office again by July 2021. As for employees, 61% of those surveyed expect to spend half their time at the office by July.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Knowing this, staying connected is more important than ever. From colleagues in the office to colleagues who work remotely, teams will need all the support they can get in the new hybrid workplace. Check out the latest additions from Q1 2021:<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Phone<\/b><\/h2>\n<h3 class=\"heading h3\"><b>Easier phone administration<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">RingCentral administrators can now easily access message-only, announcement-only, and limited extensions via a cascading menu.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We redesigned table filters, making it easier to see the data you want to view. We made headers in the administrative portal static, so you can see them when scrolling up and down. Navigation menus now have independent scrolling.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We also improved call handling by giving administrators and call queue managers additional abilities to manage agents and made numerous changes that increase the speed of answering incoming calls while improving call queue productivity. We also have shared voicemail in open beta now, which allows administrators and end users to designate others to also receive their messages.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"heading h3\"><b>Global expansion<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ringcentral.com\/office\/features\/global-office-communications\/overview.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">RingCentral Global Office<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2122 is now available in South Africa, meaning that RingCentral is now on six continents\u2014Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, North America, and South America\u2014and across more than 40 countries. We launched a new local media point of presence to support Global Office in South Africa to ensure exceptional service quality.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"heading h3\"><b>Portugal Portuguese localization<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We introduced Portugal Portuguese language localization. Admins can now change language settings, set up multilingual IVRs, and have localized voice prompts in Portugal Portuguese, or any of the other 15 languages RingCentral supports.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Messaging<\/b><\/h2>\n<h3 class=\"heading h3\"><b>Personal folders<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-46540\" src=\"\/us\/en\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Personal-folders-GIF.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"375\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ringcentral.com\/us\/en\/blog\/personal-folders-organize-your-conversations-in-ringcentral-office-and-glip\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Personal folders<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (available on RingCentral Office and Glip) allow you to organize your direct and group messages. In addition to the three standard sections (direct messages, teams, and favorites), you can name your folders based on project, group, or anything of your choosing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Drag and drop your conversations inside, rearrange them in the best order, and even color-code the folders for quick identification.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"heading h3\"><b>Code snippets<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ringcentral.com\/us\/en\/blog\/january-2021-roundup-new-collaboration-features-you-should-check-out-in-ringcentral-office-and-glip\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Code snippets<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> help software developers share snippets of code in their original formats, including source code, machine code, and any text. This makes it easier to share bits of code in messaging streams and lets others not only view the code snippets but also edit, sort, and more.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Video<\/b><\/h2>\n<h3 class=\"heading h3\"><b>Australia launch<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In March, we released RingCentral Video and RingCentral Rooms in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/prwire.com.au\/pr\/95083\/ringcentral-launches-australian-data-centre-ringcentral-video-and-ringcentral-rooms-to-address-regional-demand-for-remote-working-solutions\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Australia<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which came with all the features available in the US and UK.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"heading h3\"><b>Picture-in-picture mode (mobile)<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-46707\" src=\"\/us\/en\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Picture-in-picture-GIF.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"800\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ringcentral.com\/us\/en\/blog\/picture-in-picture-mode-now-available-on-your-smartphone-get-more-done-in-every-meeting\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Picture-in-picture<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> mode is a smartphone feature that lets you minimize a meeting window in your mobile app and have full access to your messages. Refer back to something someone shared in a message without leaving the conversation, or respond to an urgent message that comes in during a meeting.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An indicator light tells you if your camera is on, even when you\u2019ve minimized the meeting window.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"heading h3\"><b>Poly partnership<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-46523\" src=\"\/us\/en\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Poly-G7500-hero.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"930\" height=\"700\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We teamed up with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ringcentral.com\/us\/en\/blog\/ringcentral-and-poly-partner-to-transform-your-meeting-rooms\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Poly<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to integrate RingCentral Rooms directly into Poly Studio X30 and Poly Studio X50 meeting room appliances. No need for extensive meeting room equipment or video conferencing software\u2014it\u2019s all built together.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We also added points of presence in Australia, Singapore, and Tokyo to improve call quality and support data residency.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"heading h3\"><b>Improved VDI audio<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We optimized audio in <strong>virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI)<\/strong> for Citrix and VMware users. Generally, in a VDI environment, RingCentral acts like any other application running in a virtual host environment. However, telephony media streams make several extra network hops to reach the RingCentral service, and with inadequate or unstable network infrastructure, users can experience degraded audio.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ringcentral.com\/apps\/ringcentral-app-citrix\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">RingCentral App for Citrix<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ringcentral.com\/apps\/ringcentral-phone-plugin-for-vmware\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">RingCentral Phone Plug-In for VMware<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, we establish a direct media channel from your remote device where Citrix or VMware is installed to the RingCentral data center. That optimizes the audio by minimizing the number of network hops.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>More to come<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2021 will likely see many unprecedented changes to how we work\u2014and at RingCentral, we\u2019re here to support you every step of the way.
