\"your<\/a>Last week, October 15, 2015, was Get To Know Your Customer Day<\/em>! How well do you know your customers? Could you know them better? There are many ways to get to know customers. You can invest in focus groups, dig into data and analyze behavior. But, what about simply taking the time to ask the right questions!?\u00a0 Your customers have all the answers you need! They are a wealth of information, and if ask the right questions, they can reveal so much.<\/p>\n

Here are five questions every business should be asking customers they hope to get to know better:<\/p>\n

1) \u201cHow are we doing?<\/strong>\u201d and <\/strong>\u201cWhy?<\/strong>\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

A simple enough question, right? The answer to this question can reveal so much! Do your customers like working with you? Are they happy, frustrated or satisfied? Don\u2019t stop with this question. No matter the answer, it must be followed-up with the question \u201cWhy?\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cFine\u201d, \u201cGreat\u201d, \u201cTerrible\u201d \u2026 these answers are only the beginning. If you hope to replicate the \u201cgreat\u201d job, avoid being viewed as \u201cterrible\u201d, or understand what \u201cfine\u201d actually means you\u2019ll need to dig deeper. The answer to your \u201cwhy\u201d question will help you uncover why each customer answered the way they did.<\/p>\n

2)\u00a0<\/strong>\u201cWhat could we do better?<\/strong>\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

You might be doing \u201cgreat\u201d but there\u2019s always room for improvement. Understanding what your customer really needs doesn’t\u2019 have to be a guessing game. Your customer can reveal exactly what you could be doing to improve their experience.<\/p>\n

3) \u201cWhat changes can we make to keep you as a loyal customer?<\/strong>\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is a great question to ask customers who may be thinking of leaving. Ask this question to get insight into what needs you\u2019re not meeting. Now you have an opportunity to make necessary changes to keep the customer, and potentially many more you didn\u2019t even know where unhappy. Customer loyalty matters<\/a>, here are five great tips<\/a> to help create customer loyalty for your business.<\/p>\n

4) \u201cWhat would you think about<\/strong>\u2026.?<\/strong>\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

When considering making a change, like adding features, ask your customers for their input. Their answer could reveal issues you never considered, provide insight into whether or not this change will be welcomed with open arms and let your customers know you care about their opinions.<\/p>\n

5) \u201cWhat else should we be asking?<\/strong>\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Are you even asking your customers the right questions? Did you know 96% of unhappy customers won\u2019t complain<\/a>, but they will tell 15 friends! If customers wont complain<\/a> when unhappy, you can bet they won\u2019t approach you with answers to questions you haven\u2019t asked. Customers know themselves better than you do. Ask them what questions they think your business should be asking!<\/p>\n

Knowing customers is imperative to every business. Pay attention to customer habits, ask lots of questions and implement changes based on what you\u2019ve uncovered. This should be an ongoing effort.<\/p>\n
