He was an amateur drag racer for more than two decades &#8211; and he turned that passion into a successful line of business.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/blog\/2013\/02\/insurance-broker-bill-horton-speeds-up-growth-with-ringcentral\/bill-horton-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-9690\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-9690\" alt=\"Bill Horton\" src=\"\/us\/en\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Bill-Horton1.jpg\" width=\"244\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>Bill was working for a large insurance brokerage when he began selling race-car insurance. Bill met enough interested people at drag events to start offering policies for dragsters, he told us.<\/p>\n<p>The brokerage changed ownership in 2010, but the national chain that bought it wasn&#8217;t interested in Bill&#8217;s racer customers. &#8220;What am I gonna do now?&#8221; he remembers thinking.<\/p>\n<p>Fortunately for Bill, race-car insurance was in demand. After leaving his old brokerage, Bill launched a new agency (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hortonis.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Horton Insurance Services<\/a>) with dragster policies as its cornerstone. He later expanded into conventional insurance products (auto, home and life), as well.<\/p>\n<p>It was in the setup phase for his own brokerage that Bill first discovered <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ringcentral.com?bmid=BLOGNEW\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">RingCentral<\/a>. Initially, he signed up for an unlimited <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ringcentral.com\/fax\/features\/how-it-works.html?bmid=BLOGNEW\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">RingCentral Fax<\/a> plan. Upon learning that RingCentral offers phone service, he was eager to sign up &#8211; especially after looking into conventional phone systems.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Even a used PBX would have cost $2,000 or $3,000,&#8221; Bill said. &#8220;A business phone system isn&#8217;t cheap.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Becoming a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ringcentral.com\/office\/how-it-works.html?bmid=BLOGNEW\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">RingCentral Office<\/a> customer has not only enabled Bill to save thousands of dollars on phone service &#8211; it&#8217;s given him access to tools and technologies that help him work more efficiently.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;With RingCentral, unlimited phone usage is very inexpensive. I love the reporting aspects, and I love being able to get every call and fax <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ringcentral.com\/office\/features\/call-forwarding\/overview.html?bmid=BLOGNEW\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">forwarded to my cell<\/a>,&#8221; he observed.<a href=\"\/blog\/2013\/02\/insurance-broker-bill-horton-speeds-up-growth-with-ringcentral\/horton-h-serv-1-3\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-9691\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-9691\" alt=\"Horton Insurance Services logo\" src=\"\/us\/en\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Horton-H-serv-1-3.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"97\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Bill&#8217;s practice is still small: he only added a third person to his payroll in the past few months.
