2. Work-life Wrestling
Hello and welcome to a real fan-favourite event here today at the 2016 Cloud Office Games. It’s an event you’ve undoubtedly taken part in yourself at some point in your career; it’s Work-Life Wrestling. Again, we have a wide field of challengers who insist they have the moves and strength to be crowned champions, but this really is the event to separate the talkers from the walkers.

The Challenge

64% of individuals who work flexibly believe it has enhanced their job satisfaction and enabled a better work-life balance. Then there are those that are caught in a perpetual headlock of work as they grapple away in the office. The ability to work remotely without compromising productivity is the real challenge in this event.

Winning Tactics

Ironically, it actually requires more brains than brawn to become a work-life wrestling champion. The greater the physical struggle, the worse the performance. In previous Cloud Games years, champions would go all out in the work arena then force themselves away to enjoy a bit of relaxation. These days the strategy required isn’t always to work harder but much smarter.

You may notice one of the more prominent changes to the sport in recent years is the choice of arena in which wrestlers compete. Traditionally an office event, competitors can now choose to change their location however they see fit. Whether that’s at home, in a café, on the train or even in the park. All they need are cloud-based business tools that can be accessed via an internet connection. Competitors now have many more flexible moves at their disposal and can readily switch between work and play modes whenever appropriate.

The Outcome

Today we’ve seen two competitors vying for dominance in the ring. Both are adept at using cloud-based software in all sorts of locations, however one wrestler really had the edge – they were using a cloud-based phone system. Whilst the other competitor had to continually dash back to the office to answer their work phone and respond to voicemails, our winner was able to receive calls to their work number directly through their mobile app or through their laptop. Just look at the look of contentness on their face. They really make mixing bouts of work and play look like child’s play.
