quoralogo2 There are valuable resources for small business owners on both Quora and LinkedIn. If you have questions pertaining to accounting, marketing, social media, technology or nearly any other aspect of your business, you will almost certainly be able to find an expert on Quora who can provide you with answers. Within LinkedIn, business-related groups offer both the ability to network and the opportunity to learn from others within your field or industry.

As part of our Social Media 101 for Small Business series, we bring to you a few of the top people and groups that are particularly helpful for small business owners. We hope you’ll check them out and continue to find others on these highly useful networking sites.

You can follow both topics and people on Quora. To maximize what you can gain from the site, it’s a good idea to follow a mix of both. Among the most active topics and people to follow are:

Users ask everything from what business books they should be reading to how to get financing for their startup.

Small Business Network
This group, with more than 5,000 members, provides helpful connections with fellow business owners and information on how to start and grow a small business.

Social Media Marketing
Social Media Marketing is the largest and most active social media marketing group on LinkedIn. With more than 20 subgroups for special interests and highly engaged moderators, this forum is a great source for keeping up with the latest in social media.

TopLinked’s well-connected networking group is a one-stop destination for networking online, and a favorite for small business owners looking to connect with others both within and outside their industry.

Besides these people and groups to be found on Quora and LinkedIn, there are many others worth discovering. By adding these two sites to your broader social media strategy, you can not only increase the visibility of your business but gain access to a wealth of information and advice.
