Whether or not you’ll be taking calls from customers over the long weekend, there are plenty of other businesses that will be busy offering culinary advice and tips with the help of their toll-free numbers.

While most of the following 800-number hotlines are active year-round, they’re particularly popular this time of year. So if you’re cooking the holiday meal, rest assured that help is available just in case you have any last-minute holiday cooking questions.

USDA’s Meat and Poultry Hotline
Don’t take a chance with undercooking your turkey, chicken, ham or roast. The helpful team at the USDA can provide you with the information you need so that you don’t give your guests more than they bargained for – like a foodborne illness! From 10am to 4pm Eastern time, Monday through Friday. Closed weekends and holidays, except Thanksgiving, when they’ll be open between 8am and 2pm.

Butterball Turkey Talk Line
This can be the year that the turkey doesn’t have the texture of beef jerky. Dial Butterball to find out how long your bird should stay in the oven and at which temperature you should cook it. Weekdays from 8am to 8pm Central time, Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 6pm, Thanksgiving 6am to 6pm.

Ocean Spray Help
Cranberries are surprisingly versatile and nutritious. The experts at Ocean Spray have a bounty of recipe ideas and tips that will surely delight your holiday dinner guests. Weekdays and Thanksgiving Day from 9am to 4pm Eastern time.

Fleischmann’s Yeast Baker’s Help Line
How about dinner rolls made from scratch? Not sure where to put your dough to rise or what temperature you should set? No, you don’t have to have a degree in chemistry to figure it out, but you do need to keep Fleischmann’s number handy in case you need a little helpful advice. Weekdays 9am to 4pm Central Time.

Crisco Pie Hotline
Nothing says Thanksgiving like homemade pumpkin pie. And no pie is complete without a flaky crust. The pros at Crisco are standing by to provide you tips on how to make the perfect pie crust, whether you’re a beginning baker or a pro pastry chef. November 16-25 and December 14-23 from 8am to 8pm Eastern Time.

What’s the best use for a fridge full of Thanksgiving leftovers? Campbell’s Soup has the answers, with plenty of creative meal ideas that will keep you enjoying your turkey and fixings for days to come. Open from the day after Thanksgiving through December 31 with recorded recipes.
