Exciting news: For the second year in a row, RingCentral has been named one of AlwaysOn’s 100 companies to watch.
AlwaysOn, a media company serving private-company entrepreneurs and executives, conducted a rigorous three-month search for the companies that are disrupting computing the most. The final list of 100 firms – known as the OnDemand Top 100 – was selected by the AlwaysOn editorial team and representatives from some of the market’s best-known venture firms.
Greylock Partners, Andreessen Horowitz, General Catalyst Partners and Intel Capital were among the venture investors who participated in the OnDemand Top 100 selection process.
Five key points were considered in determining which privately held companies made the cut: innovation, market potential, commercialization, stakeholder value and media buzz. As an innovative cloud services provider that’s upending the way business phone systems work – one that has more customers than all of its competitors combined – RingCentral had no trouble meeting these criteria.
“This year’s OnDemand 100 winners represent the companies that are providing the space to develop daring, indispensible applications for a growing and increasingly mobile universe,” AlwaysOn editor Tony Perkins said in a statement.
Vlad Shmunis, RingCentral’s CEO, agreed that major changes to the technology landscape are afoot. “Our mission is to leverage the cloud to liberate businesses from the outdated paradigms created by legacy on-premise business phone systems,” he notes. “We are honored to be recognized by OnDemand for the second year in a row.”
RingCentral and the other 99 companies in the OnDemand Top 100 will be honored on May 20th in Palo Alto, Calif.
