hackathon_twitter-card-2_800x320 Hot on the heels of our announcement of RingCentral Connect Platform yesterday, I’m excited to announce that RingCentral is sponsoring the LAUNCH Hackathon starting Friday, Feb. 27th, at Fort Mason. In addition to LAUNCH’s $100K grand prize, RingCentral will be giving away its own awards for the top 3 teams that build the best hack on top of our new Connect Platform.

Hack on RingCentral, Win the DJI Inspire 1 Drone

For those of you that’s not familiar: LAUNCH is THE hot startup conference of the Bay Area. Founded by serial entrepreneur and investor Jason Calacanis, LAUNCH Hackathon & Festival attracts 10K developers and designers every year. RingCentral is excited to be a sponsor of the LAUNCH Hackathon & Festival, and we’re giving away cool prizes. For the most inventive, well-executed, and relevant hacks, RingCentral is offering the following:

A team of RingCentral developers will be on-hand to provide support. And of course, all entries are also eligible for the $100K grand prize from LAUNCH.

Why You Should Hack on the RingCentral Platform

Communication is at the heart of all businesses. Like all business apps, communication has progressively moved into the cloud. With more than 300,000 customers, RingCentral is the leading provider in enabling cloud-based communication. Our solution is designed to serve an increasingly mobile, distributed, and multi-modal world.

Ironically, most legacy communication services are cut off from the rest of the business systems due to outdated APIs & inability to reach into the cloud. A rep who calls, messages, and video-chats with a client typically does so by invoking tools that are isolated and disconnected from their business apps, resulting in mistakes, workflow gaps, and lost data.

RingCentral Connect Platform changes all this by closing this ‘ease of development’ gap. With our modern (RESTful), open, and easy-to-use developer portal, any developer can get up and running on their own quickly. Our vision is to bridge this gap between business apps and communications, and we believe there is a tremendous amount of value to capture for developers who share this vision.

It’s Not Too Late to Register!

It’s easy. You can sign up for the LAUNCH Hackathon here. You can also learn more about what you can build on the RingCentral Connect Platform. Hope to see you at Fort Mason this Friday!
