Last fall, I had the privilege of meeting and interviewing Paul Chapman, CIO of Box.
Box is a cloud-based modern enterprise content management platform that allows people to securely share and access files across all devices. Box empowers organizations to share ideas, collaborate, and get work done faster. Today, over 60% of the Fortune 500 and over 41 million users trust Box to manage their content in the cloud. Customers love Box because of their reliability, scalability, security, and great user experience
During the interview, Paul mentioned that when he joined Box, they had invested in a lot of best-of-breed, cloud-based capabilities, but the company was not leveraging them to the full extent. “We had a number of tools and choices in place; they were rather confusing to employees, and also costly to the company. In addition, none of the services were integrated with Box, which is a first order principle for us,” states Paul. This led Box down the path of finding and selecting a modern, scalable, cloud-based unified communications platform that could natively integrate into their existing ecosystem of services, and cost-effectively scale with the Box business.
Today, Box uses RingCentral Office and Meetings globally for all employees. They use the Okta integration for single sign-on, Google integration for soft phone, and Box integration for SMS and e-fax content sharing. By switching to RingCentral from their previous legacy environment, they have increased productivity for all employees globally, enhanced collaboration with customers, and achieved significant cost savings.
We introduced the Business Impact Award and the People Impact Award to recognize companies that have made a significant impact on business and people, leveraging RingCentral solutions. We are proud of the exceptionally innovative ways that Box is creating the digital workplace of the future, today.
