In this digital era, IT leaders are the change agents within their organizations. The final day of ConnectCentral 2018 prepared IT leaders for their return home with the mission of uniting cloud communications with their broader digital transformation strategies.

Three key insights for day three:

  1. Leaders must think differently about business success

World-renowned author, journalist, and ConnectCentral 2018 keynote speaker Malcolm Gladwell shared why businesses need to adapt to a rapidly changing world by strengthening the weakest links in their organizations. For decades, companies were only as successful as their strongest links—their superstar employees.

In order to thrive today, leaders must maximize contributions and productivity from every single employee—down to their weakest links. He noted the importance of communications technology in navigating this transition, stating that organizational success is now dependent on the ability to communicate across teams in a seamless, unified manner.

  1. Transformation requires a relentless pursuit of excellence

The Golden State Warriors are the epitome of a successful transformation. With the team’s three championship trophies as the backdrop to his fireside chat with RingCentral CEO Vlad Shmunis, Warriors CEO and owner Joe Lacob revealed his formula for taking the Warriors from an NBA afterthought to a world-class organization: set a vision, hire the best people, and empower them to do great work.

On stage, Vlad revealed that RingCentral will now be the Official Enterprise Cloud Communications Partner for the Warriors and a Founding Partner of Chase Center, the state-of-the-art sports and entertainment complex being built in San Francisco’s Mission Bay neighborhood, scheduled to open in September of 2019—bringing together two organizations with a shared commitment to innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

  1. The best leaders evolve and embrace new technologies

Mobile, social, and cloud technologies have transformed the workplace. According to Alan Lepofsky, vice president and principal analyst at Constellation Research, artificial intelligence has the potential to have an even greater impact and enhancing both personal productivity as well as team collaboration.

Imagine software that automates routine tasks, surfaces contextual insights, and caters to individual and team work patterns—all in service of helping workers do their jobs faster and more efficiently. Alan believes these groundbreaking AI-augmented tools will become commonplace in the next five years.

With over 1,000 IT leaders in attendance from 17 countries and over 7,000 hours of content delivered, ConnectCentral 2018 raised the bar for a global cloud communications conference. We hope this event armed you with the insights needed to deliver better employee and customer engagements for your organizations. See you next year at ConnectCentral 2019!
