Facebook-News This week two important Facebook related announcements were made. Both could be extremely beneficial for your businesses so long as you are aware of them and understand how your business can benefit. Today’s Friday Five provides insight and recommendations so you can profit.

1) Facebook May Let Businesses Contacts Customers Through WhatsApp.

During this years F8 conference, Facebook shared its Business for Messenger initiative. Now we hear Facebook may also open up the same functionality for its chat network, WhatsApp. The rumor is, this would be a “pay to play” opportunity. Either way, consider the doors this could open.

2) Hootsuite Ads ‘for human beings’.

The second exciting announcement has to do with the very popular social media management dashboard, Hootsuite. This week they unveiled Hootsuite Ads, calling  the initiative, the Facebook ad tool ‘for human beings’. The new tool was designed for businesses that don’t have the time, or resources, to unravel the complicated Facebook advertising process. Even better news, it’s available to all their users, not just enterprise.

3) Build a Strategy for WhatsApp Business-to-Consumer Initiative Now.

While many are excited about this weeks announcement it’s still a “maybe”. But if they do introduce business-to-consumer interaction this would be a big opportunity for businesses and consumers to gain even more real-time interaction.

So, what should you do? Now’s the time to start brainstorming different ways your company could gain from this initative. Consider whether or not this is a venture your business could benefit from. If the answer is “Yes” then it would be wise to have a strong strategy in place prior to the official roll-out. Remember, early adopters often enjoy the most success.

4) Master Facebook Ads with Hootsuite Ads.

If you’ve been avoiding Facebook ads because they are complicated, time consuming or haven’t yielded the results you had hope for, it’s time to try something new. Don’t let your past experiences with Facebook ads stop you from trying out this new option. Facebook is still the largest social platform, and if your audience is there you should invest time and effort into reaching them.

hootsuite ads Here’s how it works. The new Hootsuite ads tool was designed to make running Facebook ads easier and with more success. To get started you simply choose an objective: gain followers, drive engagement, or increase website traffic. Then Hootsuite automatically suggests your recent posts that have performed well for that objective. You’re given the option to modify the suggestions and then all you have to do is click to promote.

It’s really very simple and takes the confusion and complexity out of Facebook ads.

5) Stay Informed

It’s an exciting time to run a business. There are new opportunities popping up every day. The best way to stand out from the rest, gain exposure and best leverage new ventures is to keep yourself informed.
