Public Sector’s Communication Conundrum Report

RingCentral and GovNews report on public sector communication

Since 2020, organisations have raced to adopt innovations like cloud communications. While plenty of good came from this rapid adoption, many are now experiencing  technology silos. This is one of many communications challenges IT leaders face today.

With this challenge in mind, RingCentral, in collaboration with GovNews, surveyed leaders in the public sector to learn from their insights, opinions and real-world experiences. We wanted to get to the root of the problem and see what the solutions could be.

Here are some of the findings:

Almost half of respondents reported that their organisations have not yet migrated their telephony systems to the cloud.

  • 91% of teams use instant messaging but only 16% use messaging to communicate with citizens.
  • 19% rate their communications channels as excellent in supporting hybrid work.
  • 96% rely on email to communicate internally and 87% use the post to reach citizens.
