In the 1980s, ISDN was the new successor to the analogue PSTN system. It was created as there was a need for a more stable, secure connection for long-distance calling. It\u2019s a digital version of a traditional telephone line.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

However, even ISDN is starting to show its age. New broadband technology has changed voice communications and removed the need for costly, outdated wiring, in favour of complete digital functionality.<\/span><\/p>\n
