Five Business Books Recommended by the Twitterverse [Friday Five]

We’ve posted several book recommendations over the past year based on our favorite reads. This week, we’re sharing five titles that come highly recommended by the Twitterverse.

1) Work 2.0: Nowhere to Hide 

@FrontVibe recently tweeted their support of Work 2.0: Nowhere to Hide. This book dives into the ever-changing world of work in the digital age.

img1Topics such as virtual offices, non-routine creativity and communication issues are just a few of the important work 2.0 issues discussed. 

2) How to Write a Business Plan

The next book recommendation comes from @SuitedMktgCo and is a back-to-basics guide on how to write a relevant and effective business plan.

3) Virtual Freedom: How to Work with Virtual Staff to Buy More Time, Become More Productive, and Build Your Dream Business

@Ramonray recently tweeted out his endorsement for the business book Virtual Freedom.

img2This entrepreneur-focused book helps readers navigate through the need to wear many hats by finding the right type of help.

4) The Effective Executive

From @_JamieAlly_ we receive a recommendation to read Peter Drucker’s The Effective Executive. In fact Jamie suggest this is one of the best books he has ever read!

img5This is another book that focuses on spending time wisely and understanding when and where to allocate scarce resources. 

5) The Soft Edge: Where Great Companies Find Lasting Success

@apackard shared her excitement for Rich Karlagaard’s new book The Soft Edge. The book shares stories and identifies five key variables that make up every organization’s “soft edge”: trust, smarts, teamwork, taste and story.
