RingCentral’s Kira Makagon and Faiza Hughell Win 2016 Stevie Awards for Women in Business
We’re proud to announce that two of our executives have been named winners in the 13th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business. These awards honor women executives, entrepreneurs and employees worldwide for their outstanding performance in the workplace. Kira Makagon, Executive VP of Innovation, won a Silver Stevie for “Female Executive of the Year – Business Products –11 to 2,500 Employees;” and Faiza Hughell, Vice President of SMB Sales, won a Bronze Stevie for “Female Executive of the Year – Business Services –11 to 2,500 Employees.” Along with the other winners, the two were recognized at an awards ceremony in New York on November 18th.
Both Kira and Faiza have made remarkable contributions during their tenures at RingCentral. Kira has led global product strategy, product management, engineering, operations and IT over the past four years, guiding RingCentral to 35 percent year-over-year revenue growth in 2015. After our acquisition of Glip in 2015, Kira spearheaded efforts to take the app even further, including integration of Glip team messaging, collaboration for all RingCentral Office customers and Giphy add-on capabilities. Recently, she was recognized by the prestigious Silicon Valley Business Times’ CIO of the Year Awards as the major force behind RingCentral’s mobile efforts to empower the modern distributed workforce.
In addition to her contributions to breakthrough industry solutions, Kira is a strong voice championing equality and diversity in tech, and has worked to implement programs that establish workplace cultures that foster the growth of all employees— regardless of their gender or age. She has pushed the boundaries for over 25 years through her experienced leadership and drive to instigate change, and she truly embodies what it means to be a powerful woman in business.
Like Kira, Faiza is trailblazer. She entered the world of SaaS at the tender age of 17, and has been selling SaaS solutions ever since. She found her niche working to connect small businesses with SaaS solutions to help their companies grow. At the beginning of 2016, Faiza took over RingCentral’s small-to-medium business (SMB) program—a team of 50 working to arm businesses of fewer than 100 employees with innovative cloud-first communications solutions. Since then she has taken a high-velocity approach to expanding the program, seeing substantial growth across the board. In fact, the team sees an industry leading opportunity-to-close rate—one that vastly surpasses the industry average of 40 percent.
Under Faiza’s leadership, her team empowers small business owners to work where they are most needed while connecting with colleagues, partners and customers wherever they may be in and in whatever medium they prefer to communicate. Through her dedication to small businesses, Faiza embodies RingCentral’s commitment to creating productivity, flexibility and mobility for all.
I’m delighted to congratulate Kira and Faiza on this important recognition of their exceptional accomplishments. For more details about the Stevie Awards for Women in Business and the list of winners in all categories, visit www.StevieAwards.com/Women.
