RingCentral’s iOS App Now Features Inbound VoIP
There’s a new feature in RingCentral’s app for iOS devices: inbound voice-over-internet-protocol (VoIP) support.
In addition to offering inbound VoIP, the latest version of the RingCentral iOS app – available for download now in the App Store – addresses a number of bugs.
What does inbound VoIP support mean for you? If you’re a RingCentral Professional or Office customer and you use an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, you can now take RingCentral calls using your device’s data or Wi-Fi connection. For iPhones, that means you won’t have to use your cell phone plan minutes to accept calls to your RingCentral number. IPads and iPod Touches, meanwhile, effectively become full-featured communications devices capable of both placing and receiving calls.
Vi Chau, RingCentral’s director of product management in charge of mobile apps, describes this week’s iOS app update as another step in the process of building a world-class communications platform.
“Our goal is to enable you to use your business phone system anywhere and everywhere,” he says. “With this new feature, you can answer your business calls from our iOS app with just a data connection – an especially useful feature when your carrier connection is unreliable.”
