The beauty of a cloud solution like RingCentral Video is that these new capabilities and innovations are immediately available to our users in Australia and across the region \u2013 supported by our local data centre infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>The key new features for video include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>overlay<\/strong>, which increases the engagement of audiences by creating a \u2018weather person\u2019 visual effect for the presenter over the content they are sharing on screen;<\/li>\n<li><strong>video and static virtual backgrounds<\/strong>, for a more professional presentation regardless of where you are situated;<\/li>\n<li><strong>breakout rooms<\/strong>, where the meeting moderator can divide participants into smaller groups for focused discussions during a video meeting (coming shortly, along with support for up to 500 participants in a single video meeting); and<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ringcentral.com\/us\/en\/blog\/picture-in-picture-mode-now-available-on-your-smartphone-get-more-done-in-every-meeting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>picture-in-picture mode<\/strong><\/a>, which is particularly powerful when you are participating in a video meeting from a much smaller screen of a phone.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can find out more about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ringcentral.com\/us\/en\/blog\/new-presentation-modes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">some of these new features here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>By default, all of our new customers are given access to our new RingCentral Video platform, while existing users of RingCentral Office have the choice of staying with the current platform, upgrading\u00a0 or switching between both \u2013 all with just the press of a button and at no additional cost.<\/p>\n<p>The most powerful aspect of our new video platform is so much more than just its features and capabilities. It\u2019s the fact that we are achieving \u2018participation equity\u2019 and levelling the playing field for all participants in meetings. In today\u2019s \u2018work from anywhere and from any device\u2019 environment, we don\u2019t want those users who might be joining a meeting from their home office or from their mobile device on the road to feel that their experience is any less than those who might be in a large meeting room with dedicated AV facilities.<\/p>\n<p>The way we embrace all participants communicating and collaborating in this new hybrid workplace will ensure the success of the model in the long term.
