IT System Administrator

Responsibilities:

  • Manage configuration, implementation, and maintenance of various technologies in RingCentral’s HQ office including desktop PCs, Macintoshes, laptops, printers, servers, network equipment and software applications
  • Perform on-site helpdesk support
  • Create and maintain good technical documentation
  • Make recommendations for new equipment and services to purchase, work with various vendors for procurement and aggressively negotiate prices
  • Assist in the organization and inventory of all hardware and software resources
  • Maintain excellent communication on all tasks and projects
  • Monitor, plan, and coordinate the distribution of client/server software and service packs
Required Qualifications:
  • BS in computer science or related field, or relevant experience
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, Windows XP/Vista/7 and Microsoft Server 2000/2003, Exchange 2000/2003
  • Experience with UNIX (Linux, Solaris)
  • Experience configuring Cisco routers, firewalls or other comparable network devices in highly available environment
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, group policy, and server installation, configuration and operation
    • Upgrades, rollouts, and re-imaging workstations
    • Adding, removing, or updating user account information, resetting password
    • Veritas Backup Exec and disaster recovery
  • Solid understanding of IT security practices
  • Understanding of SIP, HTTP, TCP, UDP protocols; XML/XSLT
  • Scripting skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as oral and written skills
  • Outstanding troubleshooting ability
  • Ability to grasp new concepts fairly quickly
  • Team player
  • Knowledge of Russian language is a plus
