RingCentral and Alibaba.com Debut Cloud Based Business Phone System on Alibaba.com to Deliver New Communication Service for Global E-commerce
RingCentral Enables Chinese Suppliers To Connect Efficiently With U.S. Buyers On Alibaba.com
San Mateo, CA, May 19, 2010 - RingCentral, a cloud computing
based business phone system industry leader, and Alibaba.com, the
global leader in e-commerce for small business, today announced a new
global communication service for Chinese suppliers on Alibaba.com.
With the service, Alibaba.com suppliers based in China can instantly
set up U.S. toll-free phone and fax numbers online and connect them
with their offices in China.
Alibaba.com makes it easy for millions of buyers and suppliers around the world to do business online. The site has more than 50 million registered worldwide users with more than 40 product categories ranging from agriculture to transportation. Until now, Chinese suppliers had no easy way to have a local U.S. point of contact and enable their prospects and buyers to easily connect to supplier offices in China. Suppliers can now set up custom routing and answering rules that can be used to manage the time zone difference, and provide prompt service to buyers. Using RingCentral, a buyer on Alibaba.com anywhere in the world can dial the U.S. phone or fax number listed on the subscriber’s website to reach the subscriber in China to place orders and do business. The service also offers key business capabilities including the ability to receive faxes and voicemail via email.
“International e-commerce is thriving and has become an important factor in the worldwide economy. With this new service, Alibaba.com brings one of the most direct and convenient business tools – the business phone system – to global Internet commerce. Buyers are seeking more interaction and a deeper level of engagement with suppliers and RingCentral’s cloud-based global business phone system raises the bar overall for global commerce,” said Brandon Dupsky, director of eCommerce Merchants Trade Association.
Alibaba.com suppliers will be able to leverage the new phone service to enhance their level of customer service. The U.S. toll-free phone and fax numbers will automatically appear in the “Contact Us” section on the supplier’s profile page, making it easier for buyers to reach them and open a constructive dialogue.
“At Alibaba.com, our goal has always been to make business easier for people all over the world,” said Annie Jie Xu, general manager of Alibaba.com Americas. “Adding RingCentral’s global cloud-based business phone system to Alibaba.com allows us to provide unique communication services that help our Chinese suppliers conduct business more efficiently and profitably in the U.S.”
