It’s not wizardry: it’s RingCentral

Using RingCentral’s feature-rich system makes real estate professional Dan Byers feel like a wizard.

Dan Byers runs three different real estate businesses: an acquisition company called the Accredited Group, a Remax real estate brokerage and an apartment management concern. He handles all three separately through one RingCentral account. RingCentral’s virtual PBX abilities and its professional recording service make it possible.

“I was using a similar system but I found that RingCentral is more feature rich than that other company,” Dan explains. “I like the ability to go into the online interface and easily customize and personalize each extension. You can pretty much go in and change everything on the fly. It’s real user-friendly.”

He has one incoming toll free number for the businesses, a recorded message distributing the calls to the individual business’s extension, then at each business’s extension, a recording announcing the various extensions and employees and needed actions for customers of that business. “It helps me with the flow of communication within the different entities. People are able to call in on the toll free number and communicate with them.”

RingCentral’s Call Logs have also proven helpful. “Call logs give me the ability to see if a property manager is getting more calls than the others, from the management side of it,” he says. “And, if I see somebody called me, it gives me the ability to pick up the phone and call and say, ’Hey, John, I was just thinking about you. What’s going on today?’ And they get excited, ’Hey, I just called you earlier this morning!’ One missed call that you return can end up paying dividends.”

“And,” he adds, “I’m really impressed with the professional voice over service. It’s awesome. I can go in and create a real professional image for each of those entities. And if I add a new business, I can customize it and put a whole new voice to it and brand it in its own image.”

“It’s super easy to set up,” says Dan. “You write up your greeting, they give you hints as to what you should say. You can select from among several professional voices. And they do bi-lingual, too. They offer people for all languages, which is pretty cool.”

Once the message and voice are set, in about ten days, “they send you an email saying it’s ready, and you download the files. You can request the file format you want. I took mine in .wav and .mp3. So then I uploaded it to RingCentral, and that was pretty easy.”

Dan feels that RingCentral’s high-end telecommunications features and his professional recordings give him a distinct competitive advantage. “As a small business,” he says, “you’re an underdog, and if you’re not providing those services that are available and that others are using, you’re definitely going to lose customers.”
