SalesPortal Improves Customer Perception with the Help of RingCentral

SalesPortal: A Partnership Marketing Network
SalesPortal provides a platform for companies to exchange potential leads for products and businesses when consumers call a contact center. At the end of a sales or service call, customers are presented with offers from pre-approved relevant partners. By having these offers available at the end of a call, a company can enhance their brand value and help monetize calls. Based in Redwood City, California, SalesPortal is a cloud-based company that has employees working remotely from other areas of California, Texas, and a new office in India.

Challenge: Employees Using Personal Mobile Devices
Before SalesPortal began working with RingCentral, employees supporting client accounts used their personal cell phones for work. This created several issues: one, it was inconvenient; two, it blurred lines regarding privacy issues; and three, it was a pricey option as each cell phone contract cost hundreds of dollars per month. Plus, whenever new employees began working at SalesPortal there were significant delays in setting up the new hire with a cell phone, which had to be ordered and then programmed. These issues caused operational headaches for SalesPortal, which was expanding rapidly and had 30 percent of its employees working remotely – such challenges also made the company appear less professional in its client relations.

Solution: A Complete Cloud-Based Business Phone System
In late 2012, SalesPortal made the transition to RingCentral and installed an 800-number, 20 direct lines, and two fax lines using RingCentral’s cloud solution. The move integrated SalesPortal’s telephone system and enabled complete call management through the RingCentral mobile app for smartphones and tablets or from any PC – all with no IT involvement. The entire business was able to make a seamless switch from using personal cell phones to RingCentral within literally a few hours. In addition, SalesPortal has saved about 50 percent on monthly telephone fees by using RingCentral.

As it looks to the future, SalesPortal has begun to incorporate a work-from-home policy, which RingCentral helps enable as employees can stay in touch with clients no matter where they are located. SalesPortal will continue to save on time by not having to wait for cell phones to be delivered or contracts to be set up for new hires. In addition the RingCentral mobile app is a convenient bonus for the system as it further saves SalesPortal time by allowing employees to do work during lunch or their commute.

Result: Keeps Employees Connected No Matter Where They Are
“All of our employees, whether they use iPhone or Android, have the RingCentral mobile app. It’s great how it keeps our communications centralized, and makes it easy for our managers to log performance, whether or not they are in the office. Employees who work remotely like that they feel a part of our team even if they are not physically here,” said Lee Lucca, VP Finance and Administration.

Ms. Lucca continued, “The onboarding process is seamless. Either my assistant or I can make changes to call rules in real time through RingCentral’s online website, and we are able to talk with someone whenever we need help. RingCentral’s support is very responsive and it helps us deliver professional service. Even though we are a start-up, RingCentral has given us all the telephone capabilities of a much larger company.”
