Challenge: Employees Using Personal Mobile Devices
Before SalesPortal began working with RingCentral, employees supporting client accounts used their personal cell phones for work. This created several issues: one, it was inconvenient; two, it blurred lines regarding privacy issues; and three, it was a pricey option as each cell phone contract cost hundreds of dollars per month. Plus, whenever new employees began working at SalesPortal there were significant delays in setting up the new hire with a cell phone, which had to be ordered and then programmed. In late 2012, SalesPortal made the transition to RingCentral and installed an 800-number, 20 direct lines, and two fax lines using RingCentral’s cloud solution. The move integrated SalesPortal’s telephone system and enabled complete call management through the RingCentral mobile app for smartphones and tablets or from any PC – all with no IT involvement. The entire business was able to make a seamless switch from using personal cell phones to RingCentral within literally a few hours. In addition, SalesPortal has saved about 50 percent on monthly telephone fees by using RingCentral.
As it looks to the future, SalesPortal has begun to incorporate a work-from-home policy, which RingCentral helps enable as employees can stay in touch with clients no matter where they are located. SalesPortal will continue to save on time by not having to wait for cell phones to be delivered or contracts to be set up for new hires. In addition the RingCentral mobile app is a convenient bonus for the system as it further saves SalesPortal time by allowing employees to do work during lunch or their commute.
