Forrest Grant is able to work full time and double his income with a second business, thanks to RingCentral.
Forrest Grant is like a lot of small business owners: he works full time and runs his small business in the evenings and weekends and everywhere in between. Forrest has operated Affordable Mortgage Lenders, Inc., a mortgage lending business with seven employees for about two years.
“We’re in the LA area,” says Forrest, “but everyone works out of their home. Due to the nature of the business, we don’t need to sit in front of each other all day long.”
“What brought me to RingCentral was internet faxing,” he continues, “I worked with [Company X-a well known provider]. But I don’t like their intrusive software. I hate installing a lot of unneeded software on my computers.”
He did an internet search engine search for providers. There were a lot of services that came up. He found that RingCentral provided all the same functionality as Company X, but did not require any software installation. He cancelled his Company X service and has been a happy RingCentral customer ever since.
“While some of the other services only allow one email address associated with outbound faxing,” Forrest notes, “with RingCentral, no matter the location, I can send it out. So while I’m at work, I can still slip a fax out from there, through my corporate email, without having to log in to another email system just to send a fax. So that saves time, too.”
Forrest immediately found that RingCentral gave him more than just fax.
“Basically, I use the 800 number as fax number and I have my landline also forwarded into RingCentral through to my cell phone. When it’s a RingCentral call, the auto-attendant tells me I have a call. So I know it’s business as opposed to a friend. And I have callers record their name, so I hear their name before I accept the call.”

He lists features he now has that he never had before: notifications,
text messages to his cell phones, voicemail to his email. “No matter where I am,” he says, “when something comes in, I know I’ll be notified where ever I am as opposed to having to run back to the office to check if a fax came through on the fax machine.”
“RingCentral saves me money, too,” says Forrest, “because I don’t need a secretary sitting at a desk, filtering calls or waiting for faxes because RingCentral is all automated with the auto-attendant.”
“This is a very big solution for such little cost for a road warrior like me. I would not be able to keep up with the demands of my work without RingCentral. It recommend it all the time. I tell them you can be fully mobile and not have to go into the office all the time or go to the office and wait for a fax to come in.”
The bottom line? “It allows me to double my yearly income,” Forrest concludes, “by being able to have a full time job and a second business.”
