What's New in RingCentral 2006

We thought to ourselves, "How could the new RingCentral 3.1 Advanced Call Forwarding control be improved?" Our answer: More control!

Now, you can group your FindMe numbers so that the numbers within that specific group all ring simultaneously. If you don't answer, we'll try the next number - or group of numbers - in your list!

Phone number grouping is available in the Sequentially in Fixed Order FindMe mode. Simply click the button to add the number below it to the group (the button will always add the number or group or numbers below it).

Want to send faxes from your fax number, and RingOut from your Main number?

Using Caller ID Setup, you can select the specific caller ID you want to use per feature: RingOut from your online account, Virtual Calling Card/Callback & Live Transfer, and Fax Sending.

You can select to use any numbers from your account, including your Main, Additional or Forwarded phone numbers.

Have you ever screened your calls at home by letting them roll to the machine? Then, realizing that you want to talk to the caller, did you pick up the phone while they were leaving a message?

Not to be out done, we're giving your answering machine a run for its money!

Now, after sending your callers to voicemail, listen live as they leave a message. Want to talk to them? Just push 1 on your key pad and you're connected!

This option is currently available if you send your callers to voicemail over the phone (i.e., "...to send the caller to voicemail, push two.. "). We will add this option to the Call Controller very soon!

As much as we love the voice of RingCentral, we understand that consistency and branding is key to any business. Accordingly, you can now customize the prompt (Call Screening Prompt) that asks your callers to announce themselves.

When customers dial your RingCentral number, do you want to route them directly to your Company Directory?

You asked for it and we delivered!. If you're using multiple extensions, you can now map any of your RingCentral or Forwarded numbers to your Company Directory.

If your callers cannot find any extensions to which they wish to connect, they can easily jump to the Company Greeting for more options.

Now, we’re no longer charging for inbound voice calls to your local number that aren’t forwarded—as of this release, they’re FREE.

What this means is that callers can listen to announcements and leave voicemail, and you can call in to listen to your voicemail without being charged any minutes.

Don’t have a local number? You can get one now and start saving—callers will have another way to reach you, and you’ll pay less for incoming calls overall.

You can get a local number instantly for most cities in the continental US, and you’re not limited by the geographic location of your business. In other words, you can get a number for LA and NYC—even if your business is in Columbia, Missouri.

Please be aware that you may notice a change in the way your service metering is presented.

RingCentral meters service usage in dollars and cents but thus far we’ve been converting dollars and cents to available minutes for you. For administrative purposes, we’ve changed our algorithms so that we’re no longer making that conversion in our billing system.

What that means to you is not much, except that you should know that while your Account Status may look different, everything remains the same. You can still see your available minutes in addition to the money remaining in your account.

If you’re on a business call using your desk phone but need to run to an appointment, don’t interrupt your call—just transfer it to your mobile phone and take it to go!

RingCentral now allows you to transfer calls from any phone to any other phone. Advanced Call Transfer gives you even greater flexibility to meet your need for greater mobility.

Simply press pound-pound (##) - that's two key presses - during any conversation to use this new option!

Are you frequently away from your desk and don't need your desk phone to ring 8 times, but do need some extra time to pick up when using your mobile?

No problem! RingCentral's new Call Forwarding control allows you to not only specify how long each phone in your list should ring, but to also configure Advanced Call Forwarding Options per number as well!

This new control is available any time you use Full Call Control in any of your Answering Rules.

Want to receive text messages only when you receive a new voicemail? Or to receive Urgent and Normal messages at different email addresses?

Now it's a snap with RingCentral's innovative new Notification Settings!!

Specify exactly how you want to be notified of new voice messages, new fax messages, incoming calls and outbound fax confirmations. Switch to Advanced Notification Settings for even more flexibility!!

As if you needed one more reason to use FaxOut or Email to Fax, but here it is: now you can choose from a variety of cover pages to use when sending faxes.

The same great cover pages available with the RingCentral Internet Fax desktop software that you downloaded to your PC, are now available in FaxOut and Email to Fax.

Tired of navigating page after page of logs to find that one phone call you missed last week?

RingCentral's newly enhanced Call Log allows you to filter by—and in any combination of—date, monthly cycle, call type (voice, fax, etc.), direction of the call, extension number, and caller ID!!

You can now also sort the Call Log with a simple click of any of the column headers.

Just click Call Log to check out this cool new feature!

Now, you can more easily email a Call Log to yourself or someone else—such as an employee or your accountant.

Schedule call logs to be sent automatically on a regular basis by clicking Preferences>Call Log Settings or simply click Email Log from the Call Log screen. The Call Log will automatically convert to an Excel spreadsheet before it’s sent—then you can purge the record from your account.

With Call Logs, you can monitor company expenses, employee activities and, in general, keep records of all of your calls.

Have you always wanted more control over which of your users can access certain features? Want to make sure your minutes aren’t being used for RingOut personal calls?

You can now control which features each extension may and may not use. This includes limiting International calls (if enabled), RingOut, and Sending Faxes!

Simply click Extensions and then Settings!

Here’s a convenient way to quickly give prospects or customers a printed copy of documents such as listings or forms. Using Fax on Demand, callers can dial an extension, enter their phone number, and have the document faxed directly to their fax machine.

You can also use this service to quickly fax your saved document to someone via your telephone! Simply call in, select one of your Fax on Demand extensions and enter their phone number!

Fax on Demand is only $4.99/mo for all service levels. To get started, create a new Answering Rule and select Fax On Demand as the answering mode.

• Skip Voicemails—Finally, you can skip over voicemail messages by pressing a key on your phone (# 6), and the messages will still be marked as new in your mailbox.
• More Intro Greetings—Choose from a greater selection of pre-recorded Introductory greetings.
• Block Back—Tired of receiving junk faxes and telemarketing messages from blocked caller IDs? Block out blocked Callers IDs.
• "Mailbox Full" No More—Simply activate an option to automatically delete old messages if your mailbox reaches capacity (100 messages). Your mailbox will never be full again.
• Ignore Messages Less than Five Seconds—You now have the option to not save messages that are fewer than 1—5 seconds. If you’re tired of people hanging up in your mailbox, this might be a convenient answer.
• Enhanced Voicemail by Phone—Call your voicemail from a phone number that you’ve added to your account and you’ll be automatically logged in—you won’t have to enter a password.
