Minnesota State Primary Success Story - Government Industry

In September 2007, Minnesota held its state primaries. In order to inform voters of poll locations and other vital information, the Minnesota Democratic Labor Party hooked its small team of volunteers to its RingCentral virtual phone system.

Aside from costing thousands less than a standard phone system, service provided by RingCentral allowed the volunteers to do their job from the convenience of their homes and/or on the go.

As voters called into the Party's main number, the answering rules set up for each volunteer would route the calls accordingly. If a volunteer decided to change the number to which his calls were forwarded, he could do so easily from his given access to a RingCentral Mobile account.

Through this efficient and practical system, the small team of volunteers was able to assist a half a million voters!

When the Party is not handling a large volume of calls for a primary or other event, it uses its RingCentral service to educate constituents, volunteers, committee members and supporters about various happenings.

When people call, a choice of extensions, each of which pertains to a specific topic, are presented. When an extension is dialed, a customized message prepared by the Party is given, informing the caller about the issue and any progress with it.

The ease of use of the RingCentral system as well as its cost savings has led it to become adapted into the telecommunications infrastructure of the Minnesota Democratic Labor Party.
